looking for a quality catfish flipper. I can only find the H&H flippers and they're not worth it.......... I saw where Castin Cajun used one made by someone in Houma that floats and has a long plastic handle. Anyone can guide me on where I can find one?

Need advice on aluminum bay boat...It has to be able to run in real shallow water and preferrably w/tunnel and rear floats/steps to get her on plane quickly w/a 4 stroke. Looking at an aluminum rig 18' to 21'. Any advice??? Brand preference??? What would I expect to spend on a fully outfitted rig w/all the gadgets??? What dealer gives the best bang for the buck???
H-E-L-P!
probably have sand fleas on their tails.....and trying to get rid of them. Either that, or they thought of you as a good looking specimen........
Take a look at the Twin Vee 22' Bay Boat. Awesome. Just look for a dealer other than Boat Stuf to outfit it. Call Twin Vee direct.
Trout fishing peak season started much later this year. Shrimp (brown) was also delayed. Transition started later than usual--mid-August instead of early August. My opinion is the trout were spoiled and wanted nothing to do with artificials. They wanted LIVE Shrimp. I had a good season in the area, but had to pay the price for live shrimp. Overfished? Don't believe. Can't remember back to 1975..................
congrats!
that certainly is a good video of an excellent day on the water.
I have trouble with black drum due to all the worms.....especially in anything over 24'. Realizing speckled trout have spaghetti worms also, I tend to scale & fillet the fish so I don't see them. Large drum have so many worms toward the tail that I won't keep them. How can you convince me not to worry about worms??? Guess I'm too spoiled?
thx for the advice. perhaps I can try rattle traps and plastics?
I mean pulling the line behind the boat with the motor running. Like trolling for kings, etc.
Have you looked at the Twin Vee Bay Cat 22'? I just bought one at Boat Stuf and it's awesome. I looked at Blue Wave and already owned a Pathfinder 24'. Bay cat will run almost 50 mph, has gobs of room to fish, rides SMOOTH, & burns little gas. I've got a 200hp Yamaha 4 stroke on it.
buy a party barge. better yet, by 3 bass boats and no one will be crowded!
I've got a 22' twin vee with twin Yamaha 115 4 strokes. Goes to near 40 mph. Only burn 10-12 gals/hr at 25+ mph. Smooth rider that doesn't roll while fishing and fishes like a boat much larger. Love the boat.
I have an Ariens (Gravely) 52' Zoom Zero Turn and it's great. Mine is powered by the Kohler 25hp. It is pretty much maintenance free and I have it serviced in Larose when needed. Just make sure you get a zero turn with hydrostatic transmission. It's worth every penny. I cut almost 5 acres in under 3 hours.
I've got the 27HP ProDrive and it's a heck of a motor, built like a brick sh_thouse. However, I'd like to get a little better performance. What would you recommend doing to give me a little higher top-end speed? The engine is a 27HP Kohler.
I had the same problem as you and ended up selling my 1442 with a 25 hp Merc. You need at least a 48" bottom, so you're fine with the 1548. Due to the weight of the motor, I think you'll have to go with the 27 HP ProDrive. It'll go 23 mph with a good load. You don't want the pay all the extras with the reverse, as it's expensive and you won't use it much. I know it solved my problem. I ended up with the 1648 Weldbilt and a 27 HP from H&H Marine in Houma. They're great folks to deal with and their service is super.
thx for the info on customs. I spoke w/Kevin Gaspard @ Rookie boats and a guy named Jan @ Duvic's about SouthFork customs. Called Hanko's too, but no one answered the phone. Will take a look at them, as the price difference won't be that much more. What do you folks think of 2 stroke vs. 4 stroke on that boat? I'm just tired of worrying about oil.
I've looked at 20 footers and all seem to be outfitted with 90 hp engines. Do you think I should go with lower power such as that when they're rated to up to 130hp because I want a 4 stroke? Only two I found w/tunnels in 20' range are SeaArk & AlumaCraft. If I go custom, the bottoms are all 3/16" aluminum, which will make the boat heavier and float lower in the water. I would prefer a Merc Verado 135HP or Honda 135HP to other engines.
I've been told that SeaArk & AlumaCraft both have 20 footers w/tunnels and steps. Any opinion on these? A couple of friends of mine told me they have been in those boats and thought the world of them. Any Comments???
MCC773 is full of yellows and blackfins.........at least the last couple of days.
