New To Sportsman Network?

Hey yall, I got a friend coming in town (NEW ORLEANS, sorry) and he wants to find some perch or some bass or something near the city. Ive lived here my whole life and only fished saltwater, I know I know.

Any places close to the city,
with and without a boat?
We also have pirogues.

thanks for the help, it is much appreciated.

Hello everyone,
I am looking for any recommendations for some trailer repairs, other than skipper B in Westwego (nothing wrong with them, they are busy and I'm looking for options). I do not have the tools or the know how to repair my trailer so I could really use some help here. I am RN with little mechanical skills, but I can save your life if you need me to????
Any referrals are welcome, thanks!
I need some bearing seals replaced, a couple new rollers installed, a new bow rest installed, a new winch strap installed as well, and I am considering placing my trailer lights on poles elevated out of the water. there may be some other repairs needed as well that I have not located yet. I trailer my boat every weekend and Id like to know the trailer I'm pulling is not gonna end up on the side of the road.

I am looking at possibly purchasing a 1969 Boston Whaler in 'mint condition'. I'm trying to find specs on the boat but I am having trouble. Does anyone know if there is any wood in that hull? Ive been told that it is only fiberglass but I was also told that about my last hydrasport and what do you know, wood was in the transom and ROTTEN.
thanks so much!

Got a question,
I recently sold my motor off of my hydrasport hull. I would like to have the hull inspected prior to purchasing a new motor for the hull. Any suggestions?
thank you....

First of all, happy new year to everyone. Hope 2015 is the best year ever. So i recently had back surgery and im out for 6-8 weeks, and as a fishing and hunting addict
all i can do is think about it all, i i live for yalls reports! I read EVERY ONE.
(I Think not hunting is worse than pain from recovery!)
QUESTION- im trying to improve my duck calls, i hunt in the marshes of SE LA, no timber, wide open. Im looking for a new duck call, im ok on the call but not great. Heard double reeds are easier to blow? Any suggestions? Looking for a gadwall call as well. Gettin ready for next season!!
Good hunting!!!

A friend of mine bestowed upon me an 80 lb thrust saltwater minn kota trolling motor which he believes the shaft has frozen up. I figured i would take it and see if i could get it fixed. Does anyone know of a good trolling motor repairman?

Does LA allow trailer lights which are removeable or are we required to permanently fix them to our trailer? im tired of repairing my lights all the time!
thanks yall.....

thanks for the help and i hope this weather brings some more ducks to my area, cuz if not, we are in for a crappy end of the season.....

my wife is screaming at me to make my Christmas list and im curious as to opinions on reasonably prIced ice chests (under $70). i do ALOT of inshore fishing and hard duck hunting AND some offshore. i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on ice chests that they love. the last couple i have bought lately really sucked big time.....
and i cant afford the $300+ icechests..... not many people can nowadays.

wow, I just saw this reply. I am sorry I didn't respond but no, I didn't find anyone to inspect but we decided to take the cap off the transom and BAM! rotten all the way through. I am not sure how the old motor didn't fall off! the people who sold me this knew and rigged it to where it looked perfect, until I decided to do a little digging. Glad I did but I bought a rotten boat.
now I am looking at Boston I had to start all over again

I get my seasoning from deep south, love the green onion. I add some extra green onions, 50/50 deer to pork. To me, if you put too much pork, it tastes less like deer sausage and more like pork sausage. Just dont overcook it. Deeelicious.
Happy new year.....

A comment titled: Wow in response to a report titled: Warning

all i can say is wow, people do go from one end of the spectrum to the other from as nice as they can be to just flat a&&hole.glad i distance myself from the latter. As this country goes, the rich get richer.... Soon they will own all the land, better not get off that state highway, tires off the shoulder? TRESPASSING! give him a ticket!!! ... LOL
I agree there are poachers, but MOST PEOPLE, its an honest mistake. Ive made it, and talked to the landowner. Very nice guy, he just asked me to be more careful shook my hand and we parted ways. Everyone deserves second chances, hunting is fun, for everyone. if we, as hunters, beat each other down then people stop hunting, we lose our hunters, we lose hunting....... we lose hunting, i dont know wat i would do. Let the police do something like try to reduce violent crime, or break-ins, not accidental trespassing...... Happy New Year!
