trash left by some trashy people in the middle of the woods in the Kisatchie National Forest. I found this while hunting this weekend in the Williana end of the forest. It was not in a camp site location either. These trashy people took the time to carry and dump this trash in the middle of the woods. It is a shame some people just do not respect the beauty of our wonderful national lands and the wildlife that live there. If you are ever caught you should lose your hunting rights for life.
Does anybody know anything about a dead zone from Hwy.11 bridge over to the Causeway?
To all you guys who have been waiting! We are going on our first dive of the season Saturday. If it is successful I will post pictures Saturday night. Anybody interested in going we will be booking some trips all summer and fall. Feel free to drop us an e-mail for more information or call Darren 985-974-5429/ Cody 985-507-6789
!!!!MONSTER KAT SPEARFISHING!!!!
In relation to comments about bow fishing. Have you ever speared a BIG CAT 30 pounds or BIGGER? Here is one over 30 pounds taking in 8 feet of water with a speargun!!!!
hey men guess what is just around the corner. It is almost time to break out the ever so lethal spear gun!!!!
This is what BIG CATS look like after a day of spearfishing.
This one was shot by my son LOGAN. It weighed in over 30 pounds. We also had several over 20 pounds.
Here are some pics. from today. Logan on his second dive trip with a really nice yellowcat and he killed some very nice bluecats today also. We ended the weekend with 22 more blues and one yellowcat. Another great trip!!!! Will try again next weekend before the water starts to change and it gets to cold to dive. Should be able to dive until the end of the month. No GATORS seen today either!!!!
another awesome day underwater in Lake Maurepas. Plenty of big fish down there today. Several fish over 25 pounds. Today was my son's first dive and he did great with six fish under his belt he is now hooked for life!!! Great job!!!!! Four people fifty big cats, filled five ice chest. Will try again tomorrow with three divers...
thanks Chris
where can you launch to get there now. can you still launch the marina in chalmette and go out to the MRGO and hang a left like before?
that fish weighs no more than 20-25lbs.
you can eat every bit of meat on a yellowcat
i recently got one 42 pounds while diving in the lake.
I am gonna get you on that one! HeHe! I did not know that was your screen name (turtleNO)! You gonna go this weekend with us right?
Travis
I shot him in the lake in four feet of water.
Drop me an email. Do you dive too?
42lbs that is a 150 qt icechest. That is after being in ice for 5 hours. I do not know how much they lose but that was the weight. There are 10 or 12 fish in the ice under him that weigh over 10lbs each. plus two more ice chest full taken by three divers.had another yellow around 5lbs.
We had 34 catfish, 3 sheepshead, 1 goo, and a 16 1/2" drum.
I know the article talks about it but sometimes that information is a little behind. That could have been two or three weeks ago. I want to hear from someone that has been fishing in that area in the last couple of days.
TurtleNO -- LAKE MAUREPAS, check your e-mail
Water was clear and warm where we were! As for the guns both of you bought. The Mares mini mini is an awesome gun I have one that is five years old and has never caused me any trouble. We have killed lots of fish over 25 lbs with that gun. It now belongs to my son and he has killed some blues 35 lbs+. I have been having the Mares mini sten which is the 24 inch gun with the power adjuster and this gun is brutal on those big cats. Most all of the guys I dive with shoot the Mares guns and none of them have ever been put in the shop for repairs. The best pneumatic gun you can buy period!!!!!!! I have a friend that has the same size cressi and it has been in the shop many times for repairs from seal damage. Livebait you say this will be your first time out be safe and completely aware of your dive buddy all the time. The fish are still moving in so you need to move extremely slow. Look for stumps are logs that have baitfish around them and you should find some catfish. The key is to move slow and look close. If you need to know anything or want to dive with me and my gang to learn let me know. We are training somebody new right now!!!!
I wear a suit. No snorkel for me, some of the other guys use them. The water is getting warmer. Went three weeks back and it was comfortable not freezing cold. You could stay in all day. As for location can't give up to many secrets on here. Drop me an email for more info. Good luck LABULLET
must be a transparent blue catfish because I just can not see it
I do not know where you live but if you would like to try spearfishing we will be crankin' up around the end of May or middle of June. Soon as the water warms up enough. Name is Darren. Cell# 985-974-5429. That is my son in the photo.
He killed some monster cats this past summer. It was his first summer diving. Anyway, the invite is open and give us a call because we do take people every summer that are interested in the underwater experience!!!!
that should be an LSU sticker, then the picture would be complete!!!!!!!
try Wildlife Art on the I-55 service road in Ponchatoula. They do excellent work on birds, small game, and big game!!!!
HERE ARE A COUPLE NUMBERS I CAN BE REACHED AT: 504-428-2052 , 985-351-3634
did you put it on a scale? hogs are really difficult to just judge weight by looking. judging by the 180lb boar i just killed saturday and yes that was on a scale. she looks more like a 140-150lb hog. not picking at you but how much do you weigh?
