I know there's been some negative reviews about pro ride trailers, but I was willing to give them a chance anyway because I was not in a hurry and they were a couple hundred cheaper. Today is the tentative date we set for the trailer, tentative being the keyword. I'm hoping they will come through for me this week , so I can make a positive post about them. I will surely let y'all know when I get it. No need to comment on this post because I think if it gets ANY negative attention what so ever, it will be pulled.

Never seen this before, so I figured I'd post it. I've seen a lot of things come out of frogs that I've cleaned, but never a snake until today. When I was pulling off the skin, it spit out the snake. Managed to catch a few nice ones.

I am interested in buying a new boat. I am looking into the xpress bay boats with the hyperlift hull. I like the 22'. Does anyone have this boat? If so, how do you like it? Does it take a wave good? Do you get wet in choppy water with the lower sides? What motor are you running and what kind of speed are you getting?

All I wanted for Christmas was a good meal and a fancy antenna ornament for my work truck. Santa hooked me up this morning. First 2 ducks of the morning that came in on me was a green head and a male pintail that were flying together in a pair. I've never had that happen to me before with 2 different male species of ducks flying as a pair. They sure will be delicious stuffed with dressing.

I recieved the phone call this evening at 4:50, and Jason informed me that my trailer is indeed ready. I am sorry for everyone's bad experiences with pro ride, but I just had a great experience with Jason and made a great buy on a quality pipe top 20' dual axle tractor trailer with brakes.

A comment titled: The almighty dollar in response to a report titled: Pro Ride Trailers

Man I feel your passion on this subject. Unfortunately the sponsorship will never be dropped and the advertising will continue. As long as they keep paying, they will be advertised. There's several hunting and fishing guides that have messed people over bad, and they've been reported on here. The bad thing is that when you open lasportsman magazine(someone left one out because I choose not to financially support the magazine for my own reasons) they are still being advertised like a reputible guide service. Just take a look at all the non hunting and fishing advertisments that are all over this site now. This comment will probably be pulled because I just said something very true, but that's the world we live in today. Freedom of speech, unless it's the truth..... Welcome to Obama's America.

A comment titled: Money talks in response to a report titled: Clubs

It's sad, but it's going to happen to everyone. I hate to say it, but guys that make hunting posts on this site are hurting themselves more than they realize. People are greedy and willing to pay 10 times what you pay. Every lease or land holder has a price to be bought out or bid out. Trust me, it happened to me 2 times. Someone will see you bragging about your hunting land and back search all your posts and find out a general area where you are and who you lease from. You'll have a good thing and then bam, Someone will pay 5 times more than what you pay and then it's all gone. Either that or a select few in the club will decide they want it more and then will outbid the rest of the club. It's up to you if it's worth it to pay that much money to keep it. If not, join the crowd on the WMA's surrounding the good managed clubs and fill your tags on deer that they let walk. There's great hunting opportunities int the swamp, especially when the water is low towards the end of hunting season and you can't drive a boat all over. That's when you can hunt wma's for 3 days and not come across a single person, but it's a lot of work.

A comment titled: A+.22mag from a .17 guy in response to a report titled: 17 hmr or the 22 mag

.17 is my go to gun. My favorite gun to play with. That being said, I've killed a few hogs with it, but lost a lot more than found. If you want to use the polymer tip bullets, a pin point ear hole shot or center of the eyeball will take em down quick. The 20gr.hollow points or the fmj's if you can still find them aren't as critical for pin point accuracy, but still tricky. I'm yet to see a .22 mag have ANY trouble laying em down with a head shot just about anywhere in the head. Like I said, I love my .17 to death, but if it's a hog gun mainly, .22 mag all the way. I promise you won't regret it.

A comment titled: WMA in response to a report titled: Hunting club help

Welcome to the club! The club where money talks, therefore you lose your hunting land. It's either clearcut, or someone will outbid you. Try out WMAs. They're good deer in them if you stay away from the crowd. Sorry you got bit too.

A comment titled: Confused..... in response to a report titled: All this freshwater!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I catch reds and specs in fresh water on a regular basis. Aalso, Anyone who has ever frogged the banks of Lake Maurepas(fresh water) has seen millions of shrimp in the cypress trees all the way on the SSW shoreline. Is there something else that can be causing this? Maybe some pollution in the river water? How about all the shrimp in the Mississippi River? Anyone that works at a plant will tell you that the river water intake pump suction screens get plugged with shrimp.

I'm not taking sides, but I kind of understand where the old guy is coming from.... He is a paying member of the home owner's association that allows him to fish the private pond, JUST LIKE MOST OF US PAY LEASE OR CLUB DUES, so you can have a private area to hunt and not have to worry about the 'public' invading on you. Just trying to put it in perspective..... Catch and release is great but I can also understand the old guy's questioning, especially with the last picture... Looks like that sac a lait is heading inside..... Hope y'all can work it out

A comment titled: Easy fix in response to a report titled: Powerpole problems

Man you should've bought the triton with 2 perfectly good powerpoles lol. Just kidding man. That's an easy fix. All you need is a new ferrel. Cut the old crimped ferrel off, about a 1/2' below the ferrel. Slide the nut on the tubing then the ferrel, with the flared end to the nut. Thread the nut back on the fitting and tighten down all the way untin no threads are showing on the tubing fitting. You will have to fill your hydraulic oil resivior and follow the pump and tubing priming procedure in the instruction manual. It might take you all of 20 minutes to fix.

A comment titled: Half&half in response to a report titled: Venison Donated to Shelter Destroyed by State Inspectors

I am on the fence with this one. I've always believed that if you will not eat it, don't kill it. Just because we get 6 tags, doesn't mean you have to kill 6 deer. If I get the chance, I kill my 6, only because I will make sausage, groundmeat, roasts, steaks, stew meat, ribs....... I substitute deer for beef. I have no problem cooking all the meat I kill. That being said, I think donating to charity is a wonderful cause. It is sad that all that meat was wasted. A solution to that would be to save the money spent on hunting once you have enough meat, and write the shelters a check for the amount of money saved by not killing just to kill. I'm still struggling to see the point of killing deer that you will not eat. To me, if that's happening, you're hunting for the wrong reason.

A comment titled: Yep in response to a report titled: Lake verret to catouatche

Yes it is very possible, depending on how much fuel you want to burn. You run south from Verrett, through grassy lake, through lake palourde, and into Amelia cut. From Amelia cut/Morgan city bay go east in the intercoastal all the way to lake cocodrie. Intercoastal turns more south south east from there but keep going. When you cross under the big Houma bridge you will come to a 'Y'. Head north. You will snake turn a little bit for a few miles, then come to another 'Y'. Take a left. If you go straight it dead ends. After the left at the 'Y' you will come to a 'T'. Stay straight for quite a few more miles. When the intercoastal turns back north east, you are getting close. The next 'Y' you hit, stay straight and you'll dump out in Lake Salvador, Catahoula bay to be exact. Run across Salvidor into Catouchie. Very long ride, but if you are confident you will catch winning weight within 2hours and have a 75mph boat, make the run for big money.
