Just wanted to share a really neat picture, unrelated to catching anything -- but neat all the same.
This fella showed up around the rig this morning and has been so of bashful, finally it surfaced and camera was in hand for the right moment.
This Whale Shark was approx. 35' in length, scared to guess a tonnage. It is not the biggest one we've seen out here (Green Canyon 738) but the first this year.

Heres the latest from the Rigolets Marina, water still rising.
As I am offshore right now, and normally crew change from Houma, our Production guys are going to try a flight this evening from Lake Charles!! I hope they make it by Wednesday, I have trout to feed!!
Good morning from Green Canyon, weather is a little bumpy but not too bad overall. We had 15 foot seas all night with an occasisonal 25 footer over the handrails. Winds hanging steady around 30-40 knots...gust to 50+.
Heres our whitecaps compared to ones in Rigolets parking lot!!
As a new captain, other than his clients, theres not much more important than his boat. Thanks to Capt Eric Dumas for pulling mine from the Rigolets Marina today. As you can see the water is almost over the docks there. Hoping that out of this bad situation comes some good, like getting our lake back in good fishing condition!! Take care everyone and have a safe Labor Day Weekend.
