Made the trek down the bayou this morning from Baton Rouge. No moon and very little tide so wasnât expecting a great day. Stopped at the houseboat in bayou dularge to try to get some livies but they were not open. Headed south to raccoon point got there just after first light. Plastic under cork until it got hot then moved to fishing bottom. Ended with 36 nice trout. I have been having issues finding reds out of dularge. Should I fish closer to shores of sister lake or the coast?
Heading out Tuesday morning for first time in a good while. Any info would be appreciated, pickets producing? What about the islands raccoon point or whiskey? Anyone fished Mardi Gras recently?
Taking the kids on one last summer trip looking for some bream. Should I try the grassy lake area in stephensville or spillway side out of pigeon around Williams canal?
Is it just me or has it been a tough go of it this summer? fished 3 times within the week and its been difficult to say the least. Trout don't want to cooperate and the reds have been hit or miss. Been starting at the pickets with no luck at all. Does anyone have any suggestions on fishing racoon point? I have tried there the last couple of years and cant seem to find anything or area consistent. Any help there would be greatly appreciated!
Can anyone tell me what tide station would be best for the pickets/mardi gras and also the at the coast out of dularge. How much different in time would it be from the raccoon point station to the pickets?
does anyone know what days the tracy macy is south of cocodrie? and also whats the earliest time to get bait in the morning from them?
Where can I get live shrimp and minnows in the cocodrie/dulac area
Parents bought a camp in dulac a few months ago and we are going next week to spend the weekend. I usually fish dularge in the summertime but have never fished the dulac area this time of year. Not looking for any exact spots just point me in the right direction. Should I go south down Houma navigational towards cocodrie or north up Houma navigational towards the flood structures and then west to lower dularge? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
Going to my parents camp in dulac for labor day, I usually fish the dularge side throughout the summer months. looking for a little help from some of you who fish cocodrie/dularge because I have not fished these areas this late in the year. Are the trout still holding on the islands, or should I concentrate a little further north? Any help would be appreciated, not looking for exact spots just a little direction. Thanks again
Took a chance and headed south sunday morning to Dularge to try to catch a few trout. We knew that the weather last week probably churned things up a good bit but we had the chance to go so we headed out. Got to the Pickets about 5:30 throwing double rigs but the fish didn't want to cooperate so we left. Bounced around some and finally found a point off of Sister lake that the fish were holding on. We ended up with 47 trout 14-19 inches and 2 reds. Most were caught on cocahoes under a cork
WHAT ARE THE WATER LEVELS IN DULARGE, ARE ALL THE ROADS PASSABLE TO JUGS? LEAVING AT 3 AM TO HEAD SOUTH SO I WANTED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS PASSABLE FIRST. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Have been planning a trip to dularge this weekend to try to get on the trout but with this storm coming in I'm having second thoughts. Whats everyones thoughts on how much it will effect the fishing on sunday? Storm looks like it should be out of here by at least Friday morning if not Thursday evening. Just looking for a few opinions, I'm not wanting to make the drive for nothing. Thanks in advance!
IS THERE ANYWHERE IN OR AROUND DULAC TO GET COCOHOE MINNOWS FOR BAIT IN THE MORNINGS OR EVENINGS?
GOING TO TAKE A TRIP TO DULARGE NEXT WEEK. ARE THE TROUT ON THE COAST YET? DIDNT WANT TO TAKE THAT RIDE TO THE PICKETS IF THEY ARE NOT THERE YET. ANY ADVICE WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
Looks like a great weekend to finally get a little fishing in. Taking the family to dularge on sunday and launching out of jugs. A little help would be appreciated from some of the guides in the area, not looking for specific spots. I was thinking about crossing sister lake and fishing some of the cuts between there and the coast, is that area holding fish yet or should I concentrate a little further in. Have not been yet this year and don't know if they are really transitioning back out yet. Please advise, and thanks in advance
I usually fish the leeville area however have been venturing down to dularge and cocodrie over the last few months for some fishing. We have been fishing whiskey island and raccoon island for the most part and catching the marsh on the way back in trying to catch a few redfish. Im not wanting any secret spots or anything but a little help about the islands would be greatly appreciated. On raccoon island do you usually fish the gulf side with the jetties? also should we fish the beach between the jetties or concentrate around the rocks? We have been picking up a few trout but nothing to really talk about. Little help for a fellow fisherman
To whomever may fish the Dularge, and Cocodrie area I have a question. We left Juggs yesterday morning at first light headed south to raccoon point. Ran into a light chop crossing sister lake and caillou bay but when got within sight of the island you could see large waves from the point of the island extending west for a good distance at least 200-300 yards were rolling over. I have fished that area just a few times and never seen that before so didn't know if it would have just been shallow or what but eased past it and it was 5-8 ft of water. Anyone else see that yesterday? also is it just the right wind direction that may cause that, or maybe a change in the tide? Any information would be appreciated greatly!!
will be making a trip to cocodre/dularge are this weekend, we fished raccoon point and last isle a few weeks ago and picked up a few trout. Thinking about making a trip to the rigs to see if they are holding fish. any of the guides or people who have fished that area regularly have any suggestions or advice? We have never ventured out that far just trying to get some feedback before we make up our mind. Live bait, or plastic? Thanks in advance!!
Going down to leeville Sunday for the first time since early September. How has everything been. East side or west side? Texaco oil field? Capt. Bob any suggestions? Any help appreciated!!
Finally going to get the chance to make a trip down south for a little pole bending in Leeville. We will go down on the 4th of May. Does anyone know if the trout are staging around Cassa tete or the islands around racourci yet. Thanks in advance and I will post the results next week!
