looking for some bank fishing, catfish, bass, sac-alait anything, near BR ?
I fished with the Phil Robichaux fishing charters crew today. We fished with them just over a month ago and we had a great day putting 100 trout in the box. Well, this morning was a really good morning also. We ran south and hit a shell bar and we started putting some really good trout in the boat. Throwing Chart. Ghost Minnows under a cork the action remained steady until a big squall ran us back in to the dock at 11am. By that time we had put 73 trout with all of them over 16 inches in the box plus 3 nice reds for good measure.
Between Capt. James Wilson, with his ridiculous knowledge of these fish, and Capt. Lane Zimmer with these GHOST MINNOWS, Lafitte should be the new 'Du', anytime soon
New to the Bow game , and before I hear it a million times, I kno PRACTICE, and lot of it, Im looking more for set up of stand, good places to look on almost anyones land, we hunt a small tract of land, pines and hardwood sloughs, lots of thickets , ridges and drop off creeks, and backs up to the tickfaw, one of the hardest places ive hunted, pre season cleaning doesn't help at all, everything grows back thicker,im just looking for tips pointers, basic knowledge, down to the smallest details, knowledge is a powerful thing in a mans quest for game.
We left Seaway Marina at Safelight with Capt. James, of Phil Robichaux Charters, we wanted to catch some speckled trout and thats what we did.We crossed Little Lake yesterday morning and it wasn't to bad with the 15mph winds.Hit the trout spot and it was on.We were catching them real good till the wind jumped up over 25mph. We had 50 in the box and had to work for the last 50. Butwe picked away at them and we finished the day with our 100 trout limit plus one lone redfish.
Beyond worth every penny!!
Thanks so much Capt. James!!
