Another decent hog out of the lawn chair. After 4 months hog free this guy showed up on camera. 1 shot from a 7.62x39 to his forehead made me realize my little CZ 527 is my new all around rifle.

A comment titled: Sportsman in response to a report titled: Hunting Deer in La with a suppressor

Yeah that sounds like a great idea maybe next season we can start using supressors for deer hunting. Im thinking about making a call to LDWF and get them to legalize spotlights at night time also. Then maybe we can start shooting turkeys off their roost's and might as well shoot the hen's too or if you cant call turkeys to you then maybe we can just use our supressed rifles to shoot them at 100's of yards away instead of keeping the sport in hunting. Heck while im at it i might as well see if we can start fishing with dynamite or duck hunting with punt guns!!!

A comment titled: Im with you sparky in response to a report titled: dog hunting

I feel your pain sparky. When soterra cut out all the dog hunting i lost a big part of my childhood. And shortly after every local in the area quit joining all the clubs. As for everyone that dont like dog hunting .......well i have kept my mouth shut long enough first of all we killed more big bucks running dogs than still hunting because they cant be nocturnal with a pack of dogs behind them .. Secondly it is illegal in the state of la to shoot a hunting dog no matter whos property its on.... Third we had 6,300 acres to run our dogs on and would run different sections every day to let the deer move back into the other areas ......we never ran deer in the summer thats just asking to kill your dogs from heat exhaustion ... I have also ran the deer on our private property that i was still hunting and watching everyday Yes we would run them for miles but within a day or two they will move back in ....lastly we have a bigger problem with people killing does small bucks and yearlings than the people running dogs.

A comment titled: Agreed in response to a report titled: What you think!

Switchback , lamplighter, deerman and OP i agree with all of you but unfortunately in this state people deer hunt just like they hunt ducks and fish for reds and specks. A majority of the people in mainly in southern LA go hunting for one reason and that is to get their limit. All these hunting club members that pay 700-1000$ a year are trying to kill their limit to justify paying that ammount of money to hunt and now everyone else is suffering from the results. BOTTOM LINE people are over killing......

A comment titled: BOO HOO in response to a report titled: St. Helena Parish - Deer Population?

Well it seems i have made some COONASS friends. If the truth hurts you that much.... Then maybe you are part of the reason why we are having a deer shortage. And if i offended any of YALL coonasses by telling the truth well just come on north of greensburg and ask arround. Anyone in the 1st or 6th ward can point you in my direction!!!!!

A comment titled: Yotes must know where the state line is in response to a report titled: St. Helena Parish - Deer Population?

If yotes are such a problem then explain to me why the deer are almost over populated as soon as you cross the state line into mississippi. Once again i live in st helena parish and just 5 miles north of me is the state line. I have family in mississippi and they have no problems seeing deer every hunt. Maybe the explanation for this is the price of mississippi out of state hunting licenses. All the sorry ass hunters that go by the moto (( If its brown its down )) come to st helena & tangipahoa parish to hunt just so they can be close to the mississippi state line. And as previously stated there is too many hunters on not enough land and the majority of them are trying to fill all of their tags and then find themselves wondering....Why is there no deer?

A comment titled: St Helena in response to a report titled: St. Helena Parish - Deer Population?

Yep i have also noticed the deer population going down more every year. What do i blame ..((.Coonasses )). I live in st helena parish and i constantly hear about people shooting doe's and small bucks and then complain because they pay 700-1000$ a year to join a club and they dont get to kill a wall hanger. I guess some people are just too ignorant to figure out St Helena parish is not pike county illinois. Here is an idea and this goes for everybody...... If you want to fill 6 tags a year go somewhere else but if you want to kill nice deer in st helena parish spread the word to all the weekend warriors to stop shooting everything that walks.
