Orange Grove has been blocked off to fishermen, I called wild life and fisheries they said they was not getting involve in this issue due to grey area in law and it is still in the courts. I called terrebonne parish sheriffs office they informed me i would get a ticket for trespassing if went pass the sign. The sign is right by the inter coastal canal. So i asked how can they block it off it flows into a major water way was told they could cause they lease or own the land. Well told him i own some property that crosses minors canal so i was going to block off minors canal before lake theriot. Was told i could not cause minors canal flows into a major water way. I asked where does he think orange grove flows into. The intercoastal is a bigger major waterway than minors canal. But said i could not block it off but they could block off orange grove. What kind of double standard is this crap. If wildlife and fisheries will not get involved due to it still being in the courts and is a grey area in the law why or how can the sheriffs office give out tickets. Well if i can get help i will block off minors canal my paper work reads the same as the people in orange grove does. So how can they stop me DOUBLE STANDARD.
can anyone answer about the water levels. does opening the spillway have anything to do with the high water we been having around houma the bayou black area. was going bass fish this morning and the water keeps going higher. some people say it has no affect some people say it does. i just know the water is not going down but getting higher.
getting to be you can not find a place to fish bass in houma. they closed lake theriot a long time ago now they closed orange grove. i thought they could not block a major waterway from public use. orange grove is not a man made canal but some oil company bought it and put up a gate so you can not fish it anymore when will all this stop.
i am not here to argue with you sir i did shoot it at the range seemed ok to me they make a pistol the judge that shoots 410 shells and a 45 shell are they the same size and lenth i looked at a 410 shell just now and a 45 shell they look diffrent sizes to me lenth and od so lets wait till tommorow and see what i get told about it now i did try a 308 winchester round and it would not go all the way went about 3/4 of way tried a hornaday round and it went .iam not a gun smith or a gun maker so yea i would like to find out myself what is the problem
this 308 round should not have went in i just purchased this rifle new out the box this year i will bring it to the place i bought it to see what is going on i could not belive it went in myself mabey bored wrong do not know will let you know it is made by man and machine so who knows
that is why i posted it i know a lot of hunters shoot 308s and bring there kids and they shoot 30/30s so check your kids amo they wont (look whos talking about checking your amo)
allways shot a 308 or 30/06 for deer this year droped down to a 30/30 for a place iam hunting all close shots 50 yards or less so went bye a new marlin. shot it at the range all ok went hunting this morning grabed my box of 30/30 rounds got to my spot loaded up lucky i did not see anything when i started to unload my shell in the chamber did not kick all the way out closed the chamber agin and tried still hung up took a stick and just fliped it out all the rest of shells kicked out good looked at the shells i must have had a 308 round in my jacket from last year and it fit in the 30/30 and went in the chamber not shure what would have happened if i shot itglad i did not find out.loaded my gun in the dark never agin and will check my pockets for now on all my fault no one to blame but me
thank you for your info you sent it did help me find the owner of the land. person who owned land passed away and now there are 38 heirs who all own part of property contacted some of them and they are all in disagrement as to what they want to do with land so it will just sit there most live out of state want to sell ones in state will lease but have to have all on same page. would stil like to get with you about some land even if it is just to hunt hogs or remove hogs from someones deer lease marine corps say iam disabled i say (B.S.)i want to hunt done it my whole life wont give up trying to find a spot
i got cheaked by wardens and never had a bad time they are like everyone else good days and bad days means we are all posting reports we must be hunters or fishermen iam 57 years old and hunted since i was 9 and i seen my share of outlaws in the woods people whos thinking if it is brown take it down when deer hunting maybe that is why we do not have a lot of good deer. best one is when my son was young i took him to lake bouf to hunt we had or mud boat hidden in the grass and was standing in the marsh to try to shoot a few birds i seen 3 boats running the birds with someone on the bow shooting them they came our way instead of looking for birds we were ducking there bbs i yelled at them and all igot was the finger they kept on never went back there agin they have a job to do and if we had more wardens we would have better hunting for those who do obey the law there is good and bad people on any job you go to so if you are not doing anything wrong why worry about being cheaked.
went to court house i did think of that had the picture of property i printed off google earth said they could not help me with out a name or range they did not look to interested in helping me.
can any one tell me how i can find out who owns a piece of land i found went down a spot off the intercoastal around houma it looked like a dead end and was not there is no wells no trash no signs looks like no one been back there in years great duck ponds and lots of deer tracks walked around could not find any signs of anyone being back there no old duck blinds nothen found it on google earth have the gps reading but that is it
any one know how to keep shinners and larsh alive longer i buy them the morning i go and they are dead before i get to use them.i just use a minnow bucket but they should live longer than 2 hours
i started this about canals i doown some land and there is canals running thru it i never blocked it off like everyone else is doing why because i have found people will go fish in the canals during the summer and fall come winter time when hunting opens they stop fishing in it i may have some people who still fish in it during hunting season not many. you wont get a attorney or a judge to fight it because they are mostly the ones who are buying the land. i am just mad cause i was raised to respect a mans property fishing keeps a lot of kids off the streets and out of trouble just do not understand what harm it does for someone to fish in a canal.
to make it simple look up waterway commercial trasportation 33cfr part 329 has a section of man made canals and private ownership
when i bought my home had water front property deed said it went 60 foot from main road to bayou terr. due to erosion i only had 20 foot left was going to fill back in my land to sell my home state told me i could not due to fact it became state poperty due to natrual erosion and it would interfere with marine trafic so i could not fill it in if they can inforce it at my own home why not where we fish.i could not even put up pillings in the waterway and my paper work said i owned the land but once erosion took it i lost it THEY ARE USING THE LAW TO HELP THEM NOT THE TAXPAYERS
i did do a lot of serching what the law states if it is a man made canal who buys the land can allso have ownership of the canal with the exeption if a oil company dug the canal and the state collected revenue off the minerals it would stay porerty of the state and open to the public.or if a permit was given to them by the state with out collecting any revenue it stays state property. called wild life and fisheries talked to them and he agreed it is the law on the books they can not block the canal so i asked him why they do not inforce it he could not give me a answer.land owner must prove a single person payed his own money to have the canal dug and have it recorded in court this law was singed by the govenor and a senator what good is laws if not inforced and why is wlf not inforcing it.
sportman in la. are losing rights to fish many valued areas due to landowners placing fences across canals you see they belive that if they own the land on each side of the canal then they also own the water that is in the canal private property owners are claiming the right to deny the public access to these waters the constitutuion states any waterway that was used for commercial transportation or ties into that waterway may be used by the pulic if the water ebbs and flows it is public. a louisiana senator stated this is the law
who gives land owners the right to put up gates in public canals went fishing and found gates put up in public canals to stop people from fishing in them they own the land not the canal going bye the state law if they dug or made the canal they can stop people from going in it but they are blocking canals that have been opened for years and counted bye law as public waterways and was there longer than most of us have been alive i know we can not go on there land but some of them are blocking the canal one mile before there land even starts
