is delivered by high pressure air using scuba or carbon fiber tanks.

fill pressure is 3200 to 3800psi and rifles will get 3 to 4 shots per fill. Plenty shots for hunting as mostly you only get 1 shot and you make that one count and possibly a 2nd finish shot

All bullet for these rifles are cast from soft lead.

The '58 has a 580 bore so it's hard to get the correct bullet. I use a Lee mold with a 578 dia. and it works quite well.
The 456gr pushes around 850 fps and pass thru a 400lb hog

The .457 will shoot any lead 45-70 you get off the shelf.

I build the rifles. I'm one of approx 4 in the US thats building the Bigbore air rifles and the only one in the South.

We use a heavier bullet because of the slower velocities and still retain the FPE to make a clean kill.

These guns will produce from 300 to 800 FPE depending on bullet weight.

It's a exspensive hobby to get into but it's a hoot to shoot and nothing like the feeling you get when you drop a 400lb hog or deer with one.
