I am new to the area and have been out trying to catch some fish am having no luck. We hired a guide and spent a pretty penny and came back with 11 fish. Are there any fish in the so call spec capitol of the world and if so what I am doing wrong? Should I fish a high tide or a low tide, am or pm, open water or marsh? So many questions. I grew up perch jerking and bass fishing around Blind River so this is all new and I'm struggling bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The family and I are headed to Grand Isle this weekend for some fishing and relaxation and I was hoping someone can offer some tips for fishing there. I have only been once and the fishing wasn't great but that is largely in part to me not knowing what to do. We are bringing shrimp and some plastics to try. I'm not looking for spots to fish (unless you want to offer some up) but I would love some advice on fishing the area. My dad will also be there and he hasn't fished in many years so I want to make this a memorable trip for us all. we will also have lots of kids between the ages 16-8
I could use some advice for duck hunting Manchac WMA. I have been out for multiple hunts and so far have 2 birds in the freezer. IT has gotten so bad that on the last 2 hunts I didn't see anything remotely close enough to shoot at. Is anyone having luck out there? I've tried some potholes and I even went down to the open area of the prairie on the last hunt and still nothing. Should I try mid-day hunts or is this just the year of no birds?
To all Duck Hunters,,,,,,
I am new to duck hunting (not because of duck dynasty) and I'm gearing up to hunt the Manchac WMA and I would appreciate a few pointers. Im not looking for places to hunt etc but what I want is tips to not get myself killed or to disrupt my fellow hunters. I have been on a few hunts already but this year I will be making hunts completely on my own. I will have my son with me on some hunts. I know in Louisiana as well as in the south we pride ourselves on helping each other so I look forward to what you have to say. I wish you all the very best season and look forward to your post!!
Need a little help. I'm thinking of launching my boat at petes landing and trying to find some fish. I will be bass fishing, perch jerking, and setting a few jugs. Any tips? Ive been fishing up and down the amite from bayview and I'm tired of not having any luck. I just want to be able to enjoy myself and have a little time with out a ton of boat traffic
Thanks in advance for all the help
