Does anyone know if Breton sound marina is selling live shrimp? Was thinking about taking a trip tomorrow down to hopedale. Thanks.

Hey guys, I recently began fishing in the Hopedale area launching out of Breton Sound Marina with my 16' flatboat. I haven't done much exploring since I just started fishing the area. Only place I've tried is Lena Lagoon but doesn't seem like the fish are there. I heard Campo's sells live shrimp so I was thinking about launching there instead. Any recommendations as to which lakes/bays I should hit? I plan on taking my cousin's 21' bay boat this Monday with a friend of mine, so it'll give me a chance to do some more exploring without having to worry about gas. Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks.

I've been fishing there the last 3 wks and always see everyone stacked in the canal. Never tried the canal because I try to stay away from the crowds so I settle for sheepshead out on the oyster beds lol been doing pretty good. Went the other day and caught 17 sheepshead and 5 good size drums.

can't beat an ugly stick lite for the price. Got a range of options with the reel. I'm a shimano guy so with your budget, I'd maybe go with the shimano symetre, sahara or sedona if you're into spinning. Not much experience with the bait-casters. Maybe someone else could chime in on that.

No problem. Glad i could help someone out. For starters, you can try the eastern coastline of Lake Laurier and the western coastline of Round Lake. Just drag your sinkers on the bottom and you will be able to tell right away whats down there. Just be sure to use small hooks, cut market shrimp and keep your lines tight. I've tried carolina rigs before with some success but they tend to like the triple swivel rig more. Again, good luck man! Let us know how you do.

I usually load up on the sheepshead in myrtle grove in late October at just about any oyster bed. They're really finicky though and bite very light so it's a challenge catching them. Once u figure out how they're biting for the day, you can load up easily. Good luck!
