When my buddy Kyle extended an invite to head down to his camp in pecan Island this past weekend me and the ole lady jumped right on it. The women wanted to crab but me and Kyle wanted to fish. So we compromised by making them do the work for the crabs while we relaxed in the boat and tossed some lines out. The first weir we pulled up to Saturday didnt produce to many crabs. Ended up with about two dozen crabs, one red, two sheep head, and a mess of hardheads. Thinking the fishing would be better we moved to another weir. But it was all crabs there. The ladies ended up with another 8 dozen. The fish will have to wait till next weekend. But I sure wasnt complaining after tearing up some of Kyle's BBQ crabs last night. The crabs were on turkey necks and our fish were caught using dead shrimp on bottom.

Call Wildlife and fisheries or your police juror. They can get you in touch with a trapper that will set some traps up for you. My dad fights with em flipping traps in his crawfish ponds.

The first few times no, but long term you will have some issues. Rinse it down good with the water hose after going on saltwater and you will be able prolong some issues.

Man I'm starting to wonder if they're ever gonna head back up this year. We are still seeing alot of birds in the crawfish and rice fields down here around erath and delcambre. Mostly Teal and spoonies. Took a ride the other day to one of our leases in the marsh around the Boston canal and there still were birds everywhere. Also went pick up a couple sacks of crawfish from a buddy in Maurice yesterday aseeger said you wouldnt believe the teal they still have holding in that area. A month ago when they were planting rice they were having to use propane guns to keep em off the seed.
