Capt. Paul, thanks for responding to my question about the reefs. I am guessing they are talking about oyster reefs around the lakes. Anyway, I am still interested in purchasing one of your chips for the dularge area. Could you explain what it will do for me. I just purchased a new boat and it has a Lowrance HDS 5 unit. I have never used a gps before. Any enlightenment on this subject and adding the chip to enhance my fish finding would greatly be appreciated I also will be going through the articles that you wrote and the questions that others have sent you to gain some knowledge on this. I am new to fishing, and I am very excited about going out. I look at all of the reports on this site and want to catch fish like the bog boys do. Thanks,Louis
I hear people talking about the reefs around Dularge. Where are they located? If I purchase a Capt. Paul's mapping chip for my Lowrance GPS will it show these locations?
I am in the market for a used bay boat around $15,000. Mostly inshore, Point Auchenes, Lake De Cade, Coccodrie, Grand Isle. I don't want a boat that will draft too low. May want to go out a ways if I get a good boat that will take some waves. I have been browsing the ads here and noticed alot of Nautic Star's for sale. I am now questioning the purchase of this brand because of how many are for sale. Is this a good boat, or are the people selling for other reasons. I don't want to buy a boat that does not perform well. Not sure about Champion, heard they had problems with transom and are they still in business? Any suggestions on why or what brand to look for? Thanks
