Killed a nice buck on public land again.folks keep up the deer tagging and see bigger bucks get harvested every year.
We're so proud of our 7 year old grandson killing his first public land deer. He hung tough getting up in the morning early, walking over a mile deep into the woods and hunting like a adult. He killed with a youth 243. Good job Brady.
Nice Trophy, way to go.
a buck to remember a lifetime, congrads
Well some lands like around the Mississippi delta it's ok to bait your heard as long as you have enough land to support it. Small tracts of land surrounded with hunting pressure I would go natural. All I hunt is public land and it's tough but I play the pressure and ares not hunted if possiable. I key on escape routes on the weekend hunts and bedding areas when the pressure isn't too bad.i always hunt the thickest places in those areas and get as high as I can up. This 3 year old I killed on public land is a prime example of using hunting pressure and escape routes. The plan work just as I decribed it the day before it happened.
I have killed them up to 70 yards. depends on how far as were to aim but left to right I aim at front shoulder just inside the line. most of the time just a tad high. You need to pattern your gun to see what buckshot it likes the best. super x double x mags is what I shoot.
I use no.1 buckshot for deer, you get better penetration and have more chances of hitting the vitals and backbone. I hunted with a shotgun for years and I found that it works best for me.
Get rid of the corn and hunt natural do not disturbed the area. A smart buck will pattern you faster than you can him. Spray the bottom of your feet with sent or sent away. Hang a lock-on but always play the wind. If the wind is not right, do the right thing, don't bust them out. If you want a trophy deer don't kill your does at all, the more that comes in heat the better your chances will be. That's the only time those big bucks get dumb.
I have a camp at dewey wills. The youth hunt area will not flood its on the opposite side of the ring leeve. The Gw,s will take care of you, no need for an atv.hope yaw do well. The camp ground on hwy 28 is not real good when wet by ok if dry. They also have cabins at larto lake for rent.
Looks like you feed false info about people with their trophys.People like you should not be a sportsman
I hope thay do away with dog hunting. They mess me up all the time
Its not all about the weather, Have a good time no matter what Mother nature throws at you. enjoy the experience of just being in the wild. You never know when a buck will show himself. I killed a 155 in buck at boeuf wma and it was 79 degrees hot mosquitoes bad, u name it.
