I had the pleasure to fish with my family and a my
good freind for a coulpe of day's we managaed to catch a variety of fish both offshore and inshore we had 63 trout that were not in the pics and I can't wait to do it again...

July 06, 2009 at 8:40pm

I had a great time fishing the last couple of days with Mr.Sam...we managed to catch limits of trout every day with chartruse plastics. The falling tide seem's to be better, all fish were caught in Barataria Bay.

June 10, 2009 at 11:16am

I found this guy while I was driving to my camp,I kinda felt sorry for him so I decided to take him fishing along with me and my son...he turned out to be a pretty good fisherman. He help me find a few trout, reds and a hubcap by accident. We fished out of Port Sulphur on Sunday using the new copper colored Dudley's w/chartruse tails. I had a great time fishing so as soon as the weather gives us a break we'll do it again :)

Capt.Sonny Arnona and friend Joe Adams had two days of great fishing on Monday and Tuesday.Limits came easy both days we used topwater & plastics. There were birds everywhere diving, but it was small trout and catfish only.We had a problem with porpoise nocking the trout off of our lines while reeling them in,they would not leave us alone.I'm looking forward to fishing this weekend with the Juneau family.... and my son Vincent this weekend!

April 23, 2008 at 11:47pm

I had a great fishing trip with my son Vincent & my freind Joe Adams. We were fishing out of Port Sulfer(outside)this past Friday. The bait of choice...... anything that represents a small fish, gold & smoke.GOOD LUCK LA SPORTMANS!!!

Congrats!!!!!! To my good friend Mr. Sam Taylor Sr. for harvesting a nice eight point in Mossy Hill Hunting Club, in St. Tammany Parish. Mr. Sam is a dedicated hunter to the core, never letting bad days discourage him. Mr. Sam has never compromised his hunting integrity like others around and it surely has paid off!! Good luck till the end......

DB2013 I'm very sorry you feel mud-boats(motorized pi-rouges,long tails) has compromised your hunting however, they have been in parish for very long time along with air boats. Surface drives seems more of an issue, lets not forget air boats running ducks all over for may years either.

Lets be real if you choose not to hunt from surface driven boat don't bash fellow sportsmen for doing so, it is Legal they are not breaking any laws. I am very thankful to have this public opportunity, we have choices Delta, Pass A loutre in evenings or get a private lease.

I 100 percent agree with you on someone putting up blinds and running you out, I have had more run-ins with local guide services than non resident guides . What's not right either is lease holders posting tidal water way access to public lands . Locals guides posting school board properties with written leases from people that has mineral rights only.

In closing would like to say I have no problem with anyone who hunts legal( resident or non) and respects our privilege. Lets learn to adapt and stop blaming for our short Cummings. God bless and have safe and productive opener.

DB2013 I have hunted Plaquemines parish for 35 years I remember: 'like it use to be' and have seen many changes. But also remember big declines in duck numbers in Plaquemines before the surface drives were in the picture.

Would environment changes have an effect? (marshes, salt water intrusion)
Could human related factors contribute to duck staying up north longer during hunting seasons? (no till farming corn & beans or flooding crop fields)

I remember hunting in Port Sulphur 'like it use to be': easy limits many years ago, can you blame it on the surface drive-boats or the guides from out of town why there is no ducks?

Good proposal Edgecombe and Others on council that voted in this one.

I'll may sure my crew doesn't spend a dime above boat launch. We'll bring our bait, ice, lures, shotgun shells, gas, diesel, food, drinks, and other misc items for my camp.

Maybe these owners may want to get involved:Chevron(donut shop), Dollar store, Venice marina & restaurant, Joshua bar, Daiquiri shop, Orange festival, Chinese restaurant, Subway, Ace hardware, Happy land, Hansens seafood dock, Salvo's, Zidecos, Velvet, and others we spend money.

Our group spends about 1800/21,600 Month/Year on average and have influence on friends, customers, and co-workers as well; you don't have to be genius to figure this one.

I understand your point and respect your entitlement. Furthermore, looking into the propertys on this map outlined(public) are not leaseable.

Can you owners and leasees provide any updated documentation prooving your acquisition of these common property's in question this would be very helpfull to the fellow sportsmens that hunt this area and enforcement agencies?

Last season I question two WLF agenst in Baptiste in reguards to posting common propertys on the map, they were lost did not know updated propertys. Also, these agents were not interested in pursuing unlawful posting.

Please understand it's tuff to trust when you have certain groups that what to ban mudboats on common propertys and not on private in reguards not issueing maps.
Makes me beleive it's who you know go- figure.

Rather than calling the number I thought it would be fair to post for sportsmen to read and help understand Baptiste boundries.

Thank you very much for you coopration,

August 31, 2016 at 10:49am

With respect I hunt Baptiste and have an map of school board and private propertys,
last season I noticed an area that was on school board property that was posted by a guide.
Is not fair for me not to hunt these posted properties?

Thehunter your spot-on..

However, fish commander I was a louisiana fishing guide also have friends and customers that are guides. I am not bias. But it burned when you bashed Mike, he's not taking sides between fishermen. Also how dare you patronize us sportsmen/fishermen on this site by making claims you're helping the average joe,Really!(500pp a day average)

All fishermen are stressed over what these COMMUNIST CLOWNS are implementing. This is a fact and not an hypothesis if we do not stick together all of us will Lose!
