Anybody been conservation hunting this weekend or are going this week. Do yall put out shells or rags. Do yall find the geese flare from ragspreads? Shells are so expensive to buy are they worth it? Ragspreads usually consist of a thousand or so. But how many shells would you put out. 30 100 or 200. I am just wondering that if i use shells will 3 dozen be enough to get some big flocks in.
How did everyone do in these areas this season? I know the last weekend was spectacular.
We are hunting in the sw and there were thousands of teal on saturday. Sunday none monday none tuesday none wed none. Can someone tell me where they are. Its like they became extinct. The water is very low in our marsh, but teal like low water. Maybe lil pecan?
All I keep reading is reports on the southeast and central, there must not be any ducks in the southwest.
Does teal season open on friday or saturday?
I am a rookie duck shooter. I am interested in purchasing a shotgun. What is the best one i can get on the market?

Anybody got some reports on Grand Chenier this year?
We had a pretty good season bagging 460 birds. Hit and miss.
They are all pacific weakling fronts, Our ducks come from due north along the mississippi. So how will a weak front from oregon bring us ducks and only stay cold for 2 days max. And yes i have not seen a robin this year as opposed to robins everywhere in the past years. He also makes a good point in saying that the cold weather comes later now. In november we were hunting and the high was in the 80's thats just ridiculous. So what about global warming.
When these cold fronts push down they are not very cold. And it only stays cold for 2 days. In 1999 and 2000 there were mallards everywhere in south la. Reason why: hard freezes, we had to break ice with each step. Has anyone in south la had to do that this year or since the 99 2000 season? Maybe if we get more arctic blasts and longer freezes you will see the numbers rise. We only had one arctic front this year it was on a wednesday, thursday in early january it was around 24 degrees with a windchill of 17. I had a great hunt. Maybe global warming who knows.
Id try to find out how much a browning BPS is or a Remington 870 wingmaster not the express. But these are just pumps.
WOuld this happen to be in kaplan or gueydan?
Were yall using artificial or live bait? and no Redfish?
