3 of us went out to lake martin today , a buddy said he did real good there during the week , we went in at 10am there were alot of boats there many coming out as we were going in all saying no bites , we stayed till 3 had a couple bites but that was it way to many tour boats around there for my liking , tried both bass and sac a lait no fish at all , water was around 3 - 4 foot deep water temp was 59 , when we left there were still boats pouring in and out

Tried this place out for around 5 hours , man coming out said he had little luck with around 4 sac a lait nice size , there is alot of grass and you have to punch thru the mats to catch anything as my friend did the day before , bass and sac a lait for us was a no go water was around 10 ft deep 57 degree's , very grassy and the ramp is very muddy with a couple logs right as you launch your boat

A friend and me tried out Dubuisson Lake today first time there , water was 55 , 19 ft deep , tried both bass and sac a lait with no luck , dont know this lake well , it has no lay downs no tree's , we have heard there are brush piles but they arent marked , stayed for about 4 hours and headed out with no bites.

A comment titled: Big Alabama in response to a report titled: Private Canals with NO Postings?

i ran into a area once in Big Alabama in Sherburne WLF , towards the front there is a cut runs off to the left , i went to stop my boat right towards the mouth of it and i heard a WAM and my motor stopped , tileld the motor up and here is a 1 inch steel cable wraped around the tree going across the canal in WLF waters , i was told the hunting club puts that there to keep people out , the WLF officer said they have cut them a few times . public or private ?

A comment titled: Funny this was brought up again in response to a report titled: Trailer inspections

Yesterday this was posted as a news story on Klfy

It's surprising, but some motorists don't seem to know that the trailer they're using for towing may be in violation of motor vehicle laws. Officials say many people don't get the $10 annual inspection.

Harold Western of Lafayette owns a landscaping business. Western uses utility trailers to tow his lawn equipment. Western is like many trailer owners. He's heard about the inspection and that's about it. 'I've heard people mention it, but unfortunately no I haven't had time to go and get everything inspected. I don't know what the requirements are, cost or fee; not really happy about it. You do what you have to do,' says Western.

David Simon of Fournet's Winnwood Chevron of Lafayette does the inspections; checking utility, boat and pole trailers on a regular basis. 'You got to have side marker lights, lights in the back, you have to have lighting for your license plate,' says Simon.

Another inspection requirement is to check for insurance. Actually, that's first on Simon's inspection check list. 'Your insurance for your vehicle normally covers what's towing behind you,' says Simon.

'The fines for any violation of a motor safety code is determined by the courts in the jurisdiction of where the offense occurred. If you're in Lafayette Parish you might receive a different fine than what you would receive in Avoyelles parish,' explains the commissioner for the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles.

A comment titled: Inspections in response to a report titled: Poe-Poe Warning

ya cajun i was just letin ya know didnt want you getin a ticket.

As for inspections and unsafe equipment i find it hard to believe as the real reason , i see cars and trucks and trailers on the road every single day with shattered windshields , no brake lights , no turn signals and more then once have i seen them just passed up by the police , now that being said it the law ill roll with that i went and got a sticker the other day its cheeper then a ticket , but there is no use in getting a sticker when the once that do have stickers are illegal to begin with and no one stops them , i drive all day long so a few of these cars / trucks / trailers i see over and over with the same violations and in the end if you run into one of these people you are automaticly at fault because you hit them in the rear and there is no way to tell if there lights were working to begin with.
