Looking for any information on how to store, if possible, Choupic. I was told that you couldnt freeze them that you have to kill them and fry them fresh.. but i have to much to fry right away. So any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Anyone know if the Bull Reds are running in Grand Isle yet?I am just itching to go. My addiction is getting the best of me and it is time for fix.. Thanks
If any of you haven't tryed catching sharks yet, definitely need to give it a whirl!! These thing peel line faster than anything I have ever seen. We hooked several on a night fishing trip, but a few spooled us before we ever new what happened. Sharks on light tackle,,,a blast!!
This is the coolest thing my son could have caught today, A dang sea turtle. I've seen these things on t.v. and at the zoo, but never thought I would come face to face with one. What made it even more wild was, we were fishing in Pointe Aux Chene with shrimp on the bottom. We snapped a few pics and let the lil booger go. Awesome!! I even caught a 3' shark in the same area. I know the gulf isn't far, but I fished that area my whole life and never would have thought. Sorry to sound over excited, but my son couldn't stop smiling and neither could I.
I'm trying to catch me a trout for the wall. Never fished in Venice before but I have a gps. Any directions or hotspots anyone can put me on would be greatly appreciated. I also plan to take the ol' man to east bay to catch some snapper and what ever else tugs on our lines. Is there any particular rigs to fish? I heard there is a bunch of structure to fish but have no idea where to start. Thanks in advance for any help..
Going back to Grand Isle in the morning, and was wondering if anyone did any good this weekend? Looking for big trout and what ever else I can catch. Any help would be appreciated...
How far out do I have to go out to hook up with some snapper and other rig dwelling fish? I fish in Caminada Pass often after them Bull Reds, but I would like a change of pace. Would an 18' Predator Bay boat be big enough? What type of wind forcast should I look for? What to use for bait? I never had the chance to go out and experience that type of fishing and would love to share that with my son. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
It's that time of year again. The bulls were cooperating today in Caminada Pass. The wind was hell, but the fishing made up for it. Check out this monster. It was 40lbs. plus.
