Ok, guys I guess I have to resort to this. I had to get out the club I was in when I deployed so now that Im back I want to do some hunting and fishing but thats easier said than done. That being said anyone in need of a hunting and fishing partner? I have a gator trax boat laid out for hunting and fishing just need someone to share the gas and who knows where to go. Hell I dont care if you know where to go we can figure that out later. I will even join your club if its affordable and you have room I just want to get back out there. Thanks email at

Hello, for those of you who don’t already know this year Louisiana cancelled the Active and Guard/ reserve military rate for hunting and fishing licenses. For the last few years active duty resident soldiers were able to get their state license at a 5.00 rate. Last year the state also gave guard and reserve soldiers a 50.00 rate. This year all service members will again pay the same as any other resident. I am sorry but, I feel this is an outrage. Some of you may not agree with me and that’s ok but, I bet all of you know at least one person who has served at some point or another or maybe even someone who is serving overseas now. As veterans we are currently fighting to increase our service benefits and even fighting with the federal government to keep the ones we have but, the state... hell even most department stores give service men and women discounts now days. I didn’t know the state wildlife management program was in such bad shape that they would be forced to take this away. Next time you have an opportunity to let someone know how your state shows its appreciation do so, I know I will. This in know way is a reflection of the people of this state because I have witnessed time and again the generosity of Louisiana men and women. I think that just makes it all the more disappointing. Thank you for listening and the opportunity to serve. SSG Carlos N. Davila

I dont know the rules but, I have freinds who are enforcement agents and I was told before that if they are over 6' they usually kill the gator. Im sure depends on the gator and situation as well.

Making you pay to get it out of the police impound yard? You were able to provide proof of ownership no doubt or you wouldnt be able to get it. Whats the difference in them charging you to get it and them possesing and saleing stolen property! WTF! Well before you spend money on a lawyer to sue them I would contact the DA with proof of what you had to pay. Do this before they go to court that way they can add it in the restitution to you. May save you some time and money

Ok, I understand what the hail call is I just dont understand why its an issue for other hunters if they arent currently working ducks. Not trying to be an ass it really is a question. I have only been duck hunting for a few years now and thats in between when uncle sam wants me elsewhere if I didnt care I wouldnt ask. Thanks

I just got to experience this place this year when I got home and was thinking of duck hunting there when they started to drain it. I met the owners and they seemed ok, even got permission to use the launch. I agree though I am torn as well, a lot of people still used that area by launching off of 74. This a prime example of a few land owners with money getting their way and now we are all going to suffer. Does anyone know if the whole area is dry, do the canals still have water?

Lets not forget our own sportsman that do the same exact thing all year long and have been doing it for most of their lives. I get the wild life and fisheries news letter as well and know several enforcement agent so I hear the stories also. I agree we need to point the finger at our own agencies for allowing it to happen but, lets not forget it starts with our own neighbors.

Im not sure where youre located but, I was in spanish lake (Aligator Bayou) not too long ago and it was covered in wood ducks. I think it was late March early April. I was thinking of trying it this year. Im looking for somewhere to hopefully get some big ducks this year so if anyone knows of a leasewith openings I would appreciate it. I have a gatortrax boat and dont mind a ride along if you know a spot. Thanks for the piggy back.
