I was wondering if anyone on here has any ideas on ponds that have bass in them that the public could fish other than Lafayette area public parks. I've seen tons of old lakes off of Hwy. 90 around New Iberia and stuff and have seen people fish them, but I don't want to just trespass on someone's property. I'd like to know 'anywhere' around the Lafayette area, not just New Iberia-ish area. If any of you guys know of anywhere please let me know! Thanks!

Is there any place to Bass fish close to Fourchon area? Maybe Golden Meadow or something?

Hi all... I work down in Fourchon, and knock off at 5:30pm. I was wondering if you could give me a heads up on where to bank fish. I'm not very picky on what to catch, just want some action! Give me some insight on baits and spots. Much appreciated!

A comment titled: Well... in response to a report titled: Port Fourchon

I went yesterday to the park in Golden Meadow... Not one bite on bass artificial, but did talk to someone there that said they do have largemouth there. I have a friend from down there that said he caught 2 small ones in his cast net there a few days ago too. Anyway, I'm sure it isn't nearly as good as the saltwater fishing down here, so I'll probably just go ahead and break out the heavy duty gear and try for some bull reds around Fourchon / Grand Isle. Wait til I get back home in Lafayette to Bass fish in a couple weeks.

Thanks though!

Thanks for the info. I see people fishing there often. I'm an ole country boy and usually fish the bottom 'tight line' with a shrimp. Any ideas on how to rig your line, and what bait's to use?
