Why are tides so different at East Pass Calcasieu lake compared to the Light house Wharf? Looking at Mike Lanes fishing forecast it show fishing good at one and bad at the other. They are only 3 miles from each other.
Opinions on day fishing during the during a full moon? I am going to Grand Isle in August but during a full moon.
Mike Lanes fishing gives a 7-8 fishing forecast but I never liked fishing around a full moon.
What our your opinions?
Thanks, The Sea Ark is 1/8' aluminum so I was leaning that way. The custom boats are really nice I just have a little sticker shock on the customs, not to say they are not worth it.
Has any body rode in a 2072 MV Sea Ark? I want to replace my fiberglass boat with something I do not have to clean and cover so much.
XP20CC just to show the room in it.
For the boat only 25K. I have Xpress XP20CC mod v hull (basically flat) 2014 model. It rides rough but I do not fish the bays but 2-3 times a year. If I did fish the coast more I would have a fiberglass hull. Cannot be the ride. Sea Ark makes a production model that has a thicker hull .125' vs. .100 on the Xpress. It is nice but about 3K more than the Xpress with same options. I like the room and over all design of the Xp20CC and she runs 42mph with 115hp Yamaha 4 stroke. I can put a 65qt. ice chest against front deck and still have 2.5' clearance between cooler and CC. Get the rod storage for front deck option I did not and regret it.
Custom aluminum is the way to go if you can afford the price. If you get the Xpress get the Hyper Lift hull not the Hydro hull. The hyper rides better. Aluminum is great because you can clean up with just a pressure washer. There is no need to scrub one like a fiberglass boat. If I detail my aluminum boat it does not look any better than if I just sprayed it out with the hose.
Hanko, Scully, and Gaudet boats are really nice custom aluminum.
Go on Louisiana Department of wildlife and Fisheries under WMA and check season dates for the areas you wish to hunt. They also provide decent maps of roads and camp grounds. Go a day early to scout a location and bring a compass. Most people that are successful have experience, effort and knowledge of areas that hold squirrels.
I so happy for you. Some people don't understand what they read.
My dad taught me to ask if it is OK to move in to a spot and we would tell people to move closer if we were on the fish. We mostly fished Fourchon where the spots where larger. Just have some respect for other people. The bueaty of Louisiana is that you can find open water most of the time. Don't be lazy. Half the fun is finding new spots and doing it on your own.
I would like to see what kind of deer la. could grow if there were antler resctictions. Why kill a 4pt. if you can harvest couple of does? But I am torn. In Texas the have county wide restrictions of 13'spread or at least one unbranched antler to be legal.(spike) I believe the state does not have the right to impose management unless it is pollulation driven. Deer hunting has become a business but it is our deer as a citizen that God gave us to hunt and eat. Not the state to generate revenue thru better trophy opportunities. It already becoming to expensive for regular folks to afford private hunting leases.
Sherburne WMA has some ducks. Not really good for big ducks but can kill wood ducks regularly. Scouting is the key. Satellite imagery then go look. There are a lot of duck hunters that work real hard and have good hunts. If you do the same you can have excellent hunts. Yes you can set up in any place you want but try to be respectful of not getting to close to other hunters. 300-400 yards is a safe distance. Go where the ducks want to go. I have watched 200 ducks land in hole a 100 yards from me and only get a few to come to my set up. If I was in the hole I would only need six decoys and no call.
