Wow, what a week! I’ve fished with several great groups of people. Fisher-Man Guide Service and Stillwater Fishing Charters have partnered so that we may have multiple boats ready to go every day. We have an expanded dock at Long Beach harbor for your group to relax on while we clean your day’s catch. Now back to the fishing, it started out Wednesday, when Captain Jeremy and I took a scouting trip. We waded a good part of Cat Island in search of big trout on top -water. We didn’t find many trout but Jeremy did land a 4.8 lb trout on a super spook. We also caught about 12 redfish all on top-water, the action was nice and steady. This is a sign of good things coming soon. Thursday we had a two boat trip; Justin Barnes brought his girlfriend and their four kids. They traveled all the way from Texas and Ohio to fish with us. At our first stop the action was hot with sheephead and redfish coming in constantly. We moved on to the marsh after they got warmed up. Mr. Barnes wanted to target redfish so I took him and the oldest kids into the marsh to sight fish. We saw a ton of redfish and managed to catch several nice ones. Captain Jeremy stayed outside with Melissa and the two youngest kids to catch some trout. They ended up with several nice trout. Friday, we had the crew of Gulf South Outdoors onboard. We didn’t find much action in the marsh so we came back to Cat Island and made a nice show catching speckled trout and redfish on top-water. Myself, Barry, Amanda, and Jeremy waded the same flats that we had fished a few days before. Saturday, I had Dusty Gerald bring a fun group of guys down from Hattiesburg. They were here to send their buddy, Ben, off to a life as a married man. After a little confusion about how many people they would have we ended up with a two boat trip again. They called at 6 AM with news that an extra person had shown up overnight and we were able to make it happen for them. We started out close catching sheephead and redfish. It was such a pretty day, Jeremy and I couldn’t resist the urge to take them to Chandeleur . While at Freemason we caught some nice speckled trout and pompano. We were just about to leave for North Island and we spotted a huge school of redfish. Over the next hour the guys pulled in bull reds as fast as they could get the Matrix Shad baits in the water. These Okuma spinning reels have had their work cut out for them over the past week but they continue to haul the fish in to the boat flawlessly. If you want to get in on the action call Captain Ronnie Daniels to book your trip! 228-323-1115. Facebook @ Fisher-Man Guide Service
