Great day on the water with Capt Ahab. We filled up a ice chest full of specks, 6 reds and 2 flounder. Thanks for a great time Capt, and we will be back. You can reach Capt. Ahab at 504-914-6063.

Taylor Rickert age 12 shot her first deer. It was a 134lb 6pt. It was about 5:30 Saturday a doe walked out, and i told her this was the one. Right when she was about to pull the trigger I saw the 6pt. come out with another smaller buck. My heart was pounding. I told her aim for the bigger buck. She asked when do I shoot I told her whenever you are ready. She pulled the trigger on that .308 and i saw the deer buckle. She said I missed I said no you didn't. We got down and started finding blood right away. It ran about 20 yards. She made a perfect shot on it. I am going to mount it for her. I'm a proud dad for my little girl.

Who makes the best deer sausage in south Louisiana

October 07, 2010 at 10:40am

I have a 12' test net. Can that be used just to catch bait right now in the bayou bienvenue area. I am thinking not, but just want to ask anyway.

May 14, 2010 at 9:59am

We are looking to try to go catch some crawfish this weekend. Have not been in about 10 years. Where can we go try? I am looking for a spot about a hour or so from metairie. Thanks

We use a fence to drag our seed into our food plots, but at the end of the day it is destroyed. What else would work?

July 13, 2009 at 1:06pm

I have a lease in Liberty, MS we have been planting a mix (Buckbusters). Some of our plots come up a little weak. Just trying to get a idea of what is another good mix, or do I need to add lime to the food plots that are not growing as well. Thanks

I can cook a darn good jambalaya, but i am always looking to do something different. Lets here what you guys do.

July 06, 2009 at 3:56pm

Mississippi has been divided into 3 zones. In zones 1 & 2, a legal buck is one with either a 10" inside spread or a 13" mainbeam. In zone 3 a legal buck must have either a 12" inside spread or a 15" mainbeam. This applies to residents and non-residents and applies on private lands and any open public lands, unless those public lands already have antler regulations greater than those for that zone. Non-residents still CAN'T shoot does on public land, why?

June 17, 2009 at 9:58am

Went tuna fishing about 4 months ago with a group of guys. Evreyone cooked there tuna fresh the next day, and it was GREAT. After it was frozen for a while then we all tasted a very strong fish taste. WHY? We froze the fish in ziploc bags without cleaning them or freezing with water that is what we were told to do.

I was trying to adjust the trim tab on my motor because the steering was hard, and the bolt broke off. I drilled the bolt and the bit broke off in the bolt. Without going to a machine shop can I run the boat without the trim tab. Or will it be even harder to steer. It is a 200hp susuki with hydraulic steering.

May 19, 2009 at 2:23pm

I have been seeing a lot of boats with power poles. I am thinking about getting 1. I just want a little feed back before making that investment. I have a 22' seafox.

May 05, 2009 at 8:02am

Left Saturday morning to hopedale in the worst conditions.
Got to the marina with only to see about 6 other boats. I was thinking about turning around go grab a case of beer and head back to the house, but we went fishing anyway. Caught 20 specks 14 to 17 inches and 1 flounder. Not a bad day considering the conditions.

April 20, 2009 at 9:05am

What should the conditions be in Lafitte Saturday. We are looking to go trout fishing. Have a 3 hour drive so any help would be great.

A comment titled: Dog Hunting in response to a report titled: Dog Hunters Gone Wild

It needs to end now. I hunt in Franklin and Amite County and I see it. It messes up everything. To much time and money to have dogs run across your property. The people that run the dogs have no respect for anything

A comment titled: Messed UP in response to a report titled: Youth Hunting in Mississippi

I am from Louisiana, hunt in Liberty,MS and, and own a house in Meadville,MS and have never experienced what I did up until a couple weeks ago. It was Saturday evening at about 4:30 when I heard something like pecking on the legs of my stand. I kind of shook the stand slightly to move away whatever it was. That didn't work. About 10 seconds later that sound was now knocking on my door about 10' off the ground. I opened the door to see a mississippi game warden. He told me he was back here because he ran the plate on my truck and it came back a company truck. Yes it is a company truck, and it is my company. He saw I had a feeder down the plot about 200 yards, but sorry its been empty for years. This whole ordeal took abou 15 minutes. It was 4:45 when he decided to get off my ladder. There was no ticket issued but, thanks for screwing up my hunt. Oh one more thing next time you want to mess someone's hunt up make sure you have your hunters orange on(This guy only had a half orange hat). I did notice some old 4 wheeler tracks on my lease, and I do not ride my bike on there. So he must have road my lease earlier that week looking around. If you were looking for corn you did not find any. The law for corn is stupid by the way.
I'm not going to get into detail with this, but what I would like to say is Louisiana hunters spend bunches of money in Mississippi. I dont no an exact figure but im sure its more than anyone could imagine. We have to have a $400.00 license and still can't shoot a doe in the national forest, we buy there gas, groceries, land, pay tax bills, lease property, get our deer processed, and im sure i'm missing some things. So go find the real outlaws that give deer hunting a bad name, and leave us the ---- alone!

A comment titled: Found in response to a report titled: STOLEN BAY BOAT

I received the call I didn't want to hear. Police said they found my boat, but there was nothing left. They even took the trailer. It was found by the Alario center close to bayou segnette in Westwego. They were able to get some good sets of finger prints off the boat. All I hope now is for the police to find these no good pieces of trash and throw them in jail.

Im in the same situation as you. I pulled my drum brakes off completely. I have been without brakes for a couple years now. The salt water killed them. I was going to bring it to pearsons trailer and let them install discs on it. Where did you buy yours and how much did it cost.

About 3 years ago me and big JOHN went at night along the seawall to try to catch some trout. They ran us off as well. So we went all the way home hooked up the boat, and went back. Its a shame. Its seems like you can't do nothing right to have a good time with your friends. Just trying to catch some fish not shoot someone.
