This past weekend we headed out to the camp off Lake DeCade and we put a couple of underwater green lights in off the end of the pier and left them on all night. Crabs, small shrimp, small minnows gathered as expected the first night. Speckle Trout and Rat Reds in pursuit. On the second night we had something else show up and I don't have a clue what it was. It looked like tiny snakes. About two inches long and as big around as a sewing needle. I couldn't get a picture that was clear enough to attach.
Anybody know what they were?
I've been thinking about buying one of these boats for hunting and maybe redfishihng. Anybody have one for sale or any input on how they handle?
Has anybody used one of these boats that can give me some input?
I'm thinking about buying one and would like to get some first hand info.
Well hunting is over and before the fishing really takes off, I was thinking about getting my camp raised. It is a marsh camp near Lake Decade and I'm wondering what kind of expense I'm looking at? I would like to get it up before I tackle the renavation.
Any ideas on who to contact?
It is water access only (island).
Exploded on a gold spoon on Thursdays pre-fishing for the IFA Redfish Tournament...NO WATER ON SATURDAY!
I want to go to my camp, but that's a 4 hour drive for me. If I lived closer to the water, i would be on the boat. Y'all have fun and post pictures for the rest of us.
Who makes that bait?
I did not go that far.
Lillys are bad but if we get any north winds out of this approaching front, it should drop the water and move some of them out.
Boys had a blast.
Threw everything in the boat. Even tried fresh shrimp.
Tried Lost Lake and Carencro.
I'm heading down this afternoon. Hope this weekend is better.
Went on 9/27 and caught a lot of fresh water catfish.
We need a good northern push to flush the marsh and drop the temps.
I went out to Coon Point yesterday and we caught 29 nice trout but the water was pretty cloudy then. Doubt it will be fishable for trout this weekend.
Needle Fish?
Heck I just want to know if Jug's is going to have the 'all you can eat' specials this year?
I drove to Jacksonville, FL to pick up my boat.
We have a local dealer but they only inventory bass boats and I didn't wont to wait and order one. Local dealer has provide great service on my 2200 without a problem.
GOT TO LOVE IT.
I've got a 2200 and wouldn't trade it for anything.
See ya on the water!
Is a choice steak better than a can of Spam?
Both will fill you up but which one will you enjoy better?
I have 6 Stella's and love everyone of them.
I live in central MS but I own a camp off Bayou Dularge. When I drive 4 hours to fish, I won't to know that my equipment is not going to let me down. I also have 8 Shimano Calais and all of the reels are on G'Lommis rods.
Waste of money? To some, maybe. To me, never.
It took me a long time to convience myself to by the first one, but after that, I was hooked.
Fishing the IFA Redfish Tour, I wanted every advantage I could come up with.
Buy you one and enjoy. If you can't borrow one of your buddies as my friends all do!
Where is it usually located?
Taylors Bayou, Hellhole Bayou, Hellhole lake are south of Fidler and west of Junip.
I have a camp on Bayou DeCade and I'm about ready to hire one of these guides!
I've fished down there for over 10 years and I haven't 'loaded my Yeti' like they seem to do every trip.
May be a good investment.
Don't feel bad.
Drove down from Madison, MS. North of Jackson for the weekend.
Same luck. We did end up taking the kids out and let them fill up a cooler w/crabs for a boil.
Cut the grass at the camp and made the best out of it.
Burned $500 worth of fuel but still had a good time. Sometimes it just happens.
Find a way to make the best out of it.
While you are looking, I have to add a plug about Ranger.
I have a 22' and it floats in under a foot.
Not the fastest but will give you a comfortable dry ride.
I here ya! Especially after I have to drive 3 1/2 hours to get there, I like putting some meat in the boat. Makes for a better ride back home.
Fished Dularge Saturday before the rain...caught 24 Specks. More than a gallon bag of filets.
Hotty Toddy! Good job girls.
