Please someone clarify the madness surrounding what is legal and illegal in Louisiana and Mississippi for primitive weapon season. I want to but a gun for both areas but the explanation from both states seem a little vague. I know it was illegal to hunt in mississippi with an encore last year in 444 caliber, however it appears to be legal now! Please Help!!!!!!

My recurve is a hoyt gamemaster 2. I bought it from Outdoor Express in Boutte, Louisiana (formerly Sammy's tackle shop). The guys in there are very knowledgable about traditional archery and a pleasure to speak with. Thanks for the information on the broadheads. Kinda what i had heard from some other people just wanted to confirm.

Just started hunting with a recurve after a year of practice. I am presently using magnus stinger broadhead b/c i was encouraged to use them with my recurve. I was wondering if anyone (including you widow)had ever heard of using mechanicals like the rage with a recurve. I know they seem to have great cutting diameter and a rcurve doesn't shoot nearly as fast as a compound. i was wondering if this would affect the performance of a mechanical?

Just bought a hoyt gamemaster II and was wondering anyone else shoots this type of recurve. Just need some feedback on its perfomance and how the primitive shooters feel about this model?

Just wondering if anyone has an elk outfitter they use and have had success with in the past couple of years. I am looking to book a rifle hunt in 2008. Any suggestions are greatly apprciated!

Does anyone know of a good outfitter in Texas? Looking for something that is not ridiculously priced. (i.e. less than $4000/ hunter)

Bought a 257 Weatherby Accumark about a month ago used from someone here on the website classified, and I shot it for the first time yesterday. It has a swarovski scope with good rings. It shot a nice 1 inch group at 100 yards about 2 inches high. However, when moving back to 200 yards I could not get it on the paper of a 8" x 8" target. Kinda strange. I checked all the screws on the stock as well as the scope mount. All seem to be tight. However, I spoke to someone yesterday about the bullets I am shooting and they reported never having any consistency with them either.
The bullets are Weatherby brand 115 grain X-bullet. Has anyone else had this kinda of problem with the rifle before?

A comment titled: concealed glock 26 in response to a report titled: Concealed weapon choice

I generally either carry my pistol in an ankle hoslter or inside my waist band. Either way I really like having my glock on me b/c it is very unnoticeable.

I own the Glock 26 and carry it as a concealed weapon all the time. It shoots well and it is easy to handle. The best feature, however the best feature is the ease of concealment.

A comment titled: consistent head position in response to a report titled: help!

Be sure your head postion is consistent every shot along with your anchor point. you really start to see deviations from shot to shot with every little difference. Experiment at close yards to get the tightest groups then back out to 25 yards. I was also having this problem from about the same distance with my recurve. I cured this problem by experimenting with different head positions at close range.

I shoot montec and have taken 5 deer with them in the past two years. I like the good blood trail they leave after the shot and they are also available in a practice 100 grain broadhead.

I understand your point of view. however, I am not one to post my political opinions on a sportsman website. I want to hear about hunting and fishing not people's opinions. If I wanted to hear that I would hang out the local beauty parlor. p.s. I voted for jindal last time

i thought this was a hunting and fishing forum. who cares about the governor as long as they plan on coastal restoration and upholding the 2nd amendment

A comment titled: try oats in response to a report titled: A tricky food plot situation

If you are able to scratch the surface of the road even an inch after killing the weeds. You should be able to get oats to grow and the deer love the taste. I have had oats grow in the back of the truck bed after a weekend of planting food plots. So if an inch of dirt is availabe they should grow.

I bought the leopold rx-II last year b4 the start of the bow season. It is GREAT! I personally like the feature that compensates for the angle of the shot when hunting from elevated stands. I usually hunt out of a climber and it has really helped judge distances no matter how high I get up in a particular tree.

A comment titled: survey in response to a report titled: Bowhunters survey

I am a fan of Mathews. Any bow company that will supply a bow to dealers to let potential buyers shoot before they purchase is something to speak about. I currently shoot:
Switchback XT
Easton Axis arrows
Trophy ridge drop away rest
Extreme 5 pin sight
Tru fire relese
limbsaver s coil stabilizer.
G5 montec 100 grain broadhead
I love this combination. Shot 2 does last year. One at 22 yds quartering away right through the pump station, and the other at 32 yards broad side. Both, pass through and blood trail was unbelievable.
