BTW, we did fish for 2 days in Capt John's Laguna Tiger Aluminum Boat. We never got sprayed, never got wet. Plenty of room to fish in this boat that would get us into and out of some very shallow water. I was impressed.
Our group of 8 had a great two days of fishing with Capt John L Taylor. Probably one of our best trips ever with full limits for 3 boats each day with reds and trout. We brought five ice chests back to Shreveport loaded with filets and half-shells. We lucked up with light winds each day and even some occasional clouds which helps when the humidity is 150%. I personally fished in Capt John's boat for the 2 days and once again had a great learning experience while catching tons of fish. Can't wait til next year.
A few weeks ago I killed an interesting duck that was flying with a big bunch of Wood Ducks. They came in and lit and my son noticed that something was different about one of them. It's got a Mallard drake head and chest. The back and tail feathers are totally all wood duck. I guess I'll be going back to the taxidermist.
What a great trip we had two weeks ago with Captain John L Taylor, Captain Ahab and Captain Joey. I got my first big bull red. Full limits on Specks and Reds !!!
It was shot north of Tallulah, LA.
That's some nice bass. Sure would be nice to turn back some of the "better ones".............. to be caught again another day..................and to spawn again next spring.
I guess I was kinda lucky that the mallard or wood duck issue didn't come into play that day. However, it could easily present a problem to the fish cops. Especially if you saw it one way and they saw it another. I don't know how they'd handle it.
