New To Sportsman Network?

Anyone have a catalpa tree that I can get some seeds from to start some trees? Nola to Lafayette are easy for me.

I THINK I saw some ABS plastic (black) crawfish trays (table top?!!?) that fit over a 55 gal drum on LA Sportsman but can't find them now. Am I crazy or did anyone else see these? They're black heavy duty ABS plastic that fit over the drum and has a hole in the center. Has places for dip, drink, bugs, etc.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have to agree with the poster that said every gun has it's pros and cons - and have to agree that you need to go pick them up and feel them and shoot them if possible.

All that being said, I'm in the second year of some pretty serious duck and goose hunting with my Beretta A400 and could not be happier. The posters that stated you can shoot 3.5' shells all day are not lying. It's a sweet handling gun and well worth every penny you will pay for it.

I've shot many different makes and models of guns over the years but the A400 will most likely be my last. I've never had a gun that I enjoyed shooting more than I do that one.

I think Hunter has a lot of it right....

Too many people on here want something for nothing. I think sellers factor in that in their price and then negotiate to a reasonable price.

Guy, my yellow lab has never missed finding a deer that I've put her out on. I trained her when she was about 10 months old and she's still getting it 9 years later.

I can't imagine anything better than her.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Can anyone tell me what area (or perhaps specific gas stations) that the Chalmette refinery services? I signed the petition already but am curious as to what refinery supplies the few stations in Houma where I live. Does anyone know?

Ummm, no, I for one do NOT like the new format at all. As previously stated, it's harder to spot scams, you have to open to find out if is anything of interest and seems more labor intensive to use than before.

I can't say this is an improvement if this is the final product.

Greenjeans, I realize it may be difficult but you need to try and comprehend that I clearly stated there is NO paperwork for either in my ad. The other trailer that I referenced was a completely different set up but, again, one must have the capability to comprehend the difference between the two. And for your insistence that I sell items for $1 because it shows up in the title section you need to read the entire ad and all of mine clearly state a desired dollar amount. Every ad I place defaults to $1 regardless of the amount I place in it so take that beef up with LAS.

All I can say is that a snook is everything you said plus they taste awesome! One of my all time favorites to catch. For many years so many people had no clue what I was even talking about!

I agree. She has to go. This is not the first time she has supported legislation that would put our Constitutionally guaranteed rights at risk. She is NO SUPPORTER OF LOUISIANIANS and needs to be voted out of the Senate and then anything else she ever runs for.

Thanks for the input! That's all I was asking as far as location. I appreciate it.

And I know exactly what you mean about sitting back and waiting - generally, by the time you find out it seems 'the bite' is over! LOL I fish a lot and go different places looking for good water and a bite. Over the years I've got about 8-10 places that have produced well for me at certain times of the year and rely on those times/places more than word of mouth.

Nice mess and, again, thanks for the input!

Yeah, it does really matter. I don't want the darn canal or bayou name but I would like to know if it was in the spillway, some private pond or something. People like you make it a (DIS)pleasure to be on this site. If I posted a picture I'd tell someone the general location and baits in a heartbeat. But, I guess that's the difference between me and you, isn't it?

The following is copied directly from WD-40's website: Seems there is no fish oil...

Myth: WD-40 contains fish oil.
Consumers have told us over the years that they have caught some of the biggest fish ever after protecting their fish hooks and lures with WD-40. We believe this legend came from folks assuming that the product must contain fish oil since it appears to attract fish. Sorry Charlie®, it just ain’t so.

WD-40 Company has taken steps to respect and conserve the environment, and encourages its users to do the same. While WD-40 can be used to help protect fishing equipment from rust and corrosion, WD-40 Company does not recommend using WD-40 to attract fish.

Where do you live to get it done this easy? Around Houma it was a nightmare to have it done. I promise I could have bought a ton of gas for what I spent running all over. It was like a chinese fire drill for me.

A comment titled: Home made trailer in response to a report titled: boat trailor title

I hope it's as easy as some have indicated in other comments. My experience was not that easy. It took me almost three years to get mine legal. I made numerous trips to the troopers office who would send me to motor vehicles who would send me back to the troopers and so on and so on forever. I could have bought a new trailer with the gas money I spent. I finally was able to get it done and have a 'legal' trailer that I can use but it is NOT an easy process. Receipts and pictures of 'before, during and after' did little to help convince anyone as to how the trailer came to life. I even had a notarized statement that held no water.

Personally, I think that if the legislature would pass a law making this a little easier that more people would register their trailers which would bring more revenue into state coffers. I know a lot of people that want to be legal but the process is so difficult they just run without papers, tags, etc.

Sorry you have to deal with scum like this but this happens all the time. We deal with people trespassing, stealing cameras, boats and anything else that isn't nailed down. I wonder what makes people do things like this!?!?!? Good luck.

I'm not sure what store you work at but where I live I witnessed them boxing every 'assault rifle' up and when I asked if they were for sale was told that they CANNOT sell due to corporate policy. I go in about once a week and ask and they are still not selling them but have them stored in the store. There are so few boxes of any type of rifle ammo that it's not worth going in for. Zero .22 ammo. Zero pistol ammo. And am constantly told they aren't getting any. What's the deal on that?

We need to support the NRA heavily. Sign up your spouse and children. Get friends and family to join. The current atmosphere in the USA is not conducive to us maintaining our weapons and life style. The NRA is committed to helping keep both. Good information and it needs to be kept at the top of the post section so it's easily found.

This should be required viewing for everyone that claims to be a gun enthusiast. While it was lengthy it was well worth the time spent watching. I will pass this link on to everyone I know. We truly have to unite or the liberal politicians and media will completely eliminate our guns and ammo. All the cliches (cold dead fingers...etc) don't mean anything! It's time we band together and make a SOLID stand against this attempt to ban our weapons!

I'd suggest a 25.06. Flat shooting, very little recoil, deadly accurate and will drop a deer in a heartbeat. jmo
