I was driving home from fishing yesterday with OD on and all of a sudden my RPMs shot up and my truck wouldnt go. I put OD off and my truck drives fine. Took dipstick out and it smelt burnt but was red fluid. It also had some black looking soot on it, not alot but some. So my guess is that I need a rebuilt. Can somebody recommend a reliable place in the Baton Rouge / Central area that is good>> and how much am I looking at spending??

***Truck is a Ford f150 04' with 100,000 miles on it 4.6 V8.

-Thanks!

I have had trouble staying on the pad of my boat due to some small "hooks" AKA dents on my pad. Has anybody ever had this issue with an xpress boat, and how did you correct it?? Thinking about taking some epoxy to them to level them out then sanding them down even with then pad, but my concern is that there will be to much water pressure hitting them going 55+mph and it want hold up. is there some type of epoxy that will hold up to this stress and stick good to aluminum?? Thanks!

HOPEFULLY we will get some warm weather and higher water and MABEY be able to catch some spawning females in a few weeks!! Anybody else make a trip in the area with results??

February 07, 2009 at 8:14pm

What is the quickest way to get to Lac Des Allemands? I have never been there so I was wondering if someone could help me out by telling me where the boat landings are? I am from Baton rouge......I would prefer a landing on the south end also? And do you have to have a saltwater liscense to fish in here for bass??

I hunt off the Buffola River in Woodville, MS...I honestly havent seen one deer behind a doe this yr. i have seen bucks looking for does, but nothing chasing? Do any of yall in this area think the rut hasnt happened yet, or has it ended and I just did not get lucky this year??? What have yall seen??

January 21, 2009 at 1:47pm

What happened to the picture of that 25" spike??

January 16, 2009 at 10:18am

Just think fellows, the bass fishing in the spillway was just starting to get back "to the good ol days." Well, if Gustav decides to take the route predicted, then the bass fishing will go downhill once agian!!!!! I am trying to prep myself now!! To think that we had high water ALL SPRING/SUMMER long, so the bass were able to have a GREAT spawn. Now, I see Gustav DESTROYING all of that! That really chaps my azz!! I am going to HAMMER them this weekend bc I think it might be my last for a few year :-(

I am getting married in january and my wife and I will both be going back to school at Nicholls State University (Thibodaux area)and we will be in desperate need of a place to live down there. I was wondering if anybody has a house/apartment or anything that they would be willing to rent to us? I have look around the area and it is VERY hard to find a vacant spot anywhere. We would be willing to move around that area also ex. Raceland, Houma, Morgan city ect...Any help would be GREATLY appriciated! Thanks!

Made a trip to my favoriate spot in the basin today. AND WHAT A DAY! My cousin and I boated over 100 bass and had 16 keepers biggest running around 3.5 pounds. Caught on chug bugs and red shad worms. My chug bug was crome and blue and at the end of the day it was white due to the fish hitting it so much and nocking the paint off! cant wait to go back this weekend. good luck fishing!
