Went run some jug lines by myself the other night in Delcambre, LA in the canal with my secret catfish bait. Went on a solo trip to Delcambre, LA to fish the canal. Fished from 3-5 pm yesterday with fresh shrimp on the bottom Carolina rigged. Challenged myself to only using very light tackle. I know itââ¬â¢s not traditional fishing, but I thought yââ¬â¢all would like to see whatââ¬â¢s under the water at local fishing spots you guys frequent often. First spot is cypremort point bridge in the canal and second spot is bayou techie boat launch. Pretty cool finds for my first time ever!!! Thanks for watching and supporting my local channel guys!
My brother and I went to Marsh Island Wednesday afternoon. We got rained on for the first hour, but it was cool for the most part. We limited out on mostly 16-20 count shrimp and about 2-3 dozen of nice select crabs. Used fish meal, flour, and water for the shrimp and chicken and turkey necks for the crabs. The tide was rolling out hard the whole time we were there. Went from about 2pm-4:30pm. Went fish the cove for a little bit after we left marsh island and got a nice redfish and some decent sized black drum. Watch all the action in the video!! Please consider hitting that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON. We are a local channel trying to produce great content for you guys. Tons more content still to come with fall fishing and duck season approaching fast!!! Enjoy the VIDEO!!

I have been frogging a few other times before, and I am planning another trip tonight. Just wondering if someone could tell me a distinct way to tell the difference between a pig frog and bull frog. Last time we went we seen a bunch of smaller frogs that we thought were small bull frogs, but the more I think about it, they might have been pig frogs. I want to make sure I don't pass up anymore frogs that are legal pig frog size thinking that they are under sized bull frogs.
I get my fish meal at T&S Milling on Center St. in New Iberia. If you have a feed store near you, most likely they will have some. I get about 4-5 pounds of it and mix it with about 2 pounds of flour, and just add in the water as needed until it becomes a firm paste.
We love to share out adventures and most of them are based in South Louisiana. We have a ton of more content to come especially with fall fishing and duck season coming up!!!
Ill definitely keep that in mind, makes sense to me. Normally I only catch shrimp in strong current so next time I will flatten them out!
Not a problem, I am about to post another video, I will make sure to post all the info in the description for sure.
What part were you fishing? Just curious, I have a smaller boat and can't make it to marsh island and everything, so just seeing if they might have been in a place accessible for me.
Had the exact same problem when me and a friend went out..we were struggling to identify them and probably threw some pigs back just because we weren't sure. But 100 frogs is a lot of frogs to see, we see a lot of small ones most of the time, but would like to find a spot like that with a lot of frogs!
We caught these last trip we went on a couple weeks back. Assuming they are all bullfrogs, because I was told bullfrogs don't have the ridges along their back, but these did and their nose doesn't look too blunt to me like other pictures I've seen before. I'm still confused like no tomorrow!
We caught these on our last trip, wasn't that good I know, but assuming all of these are bullfrogs right? Because someone told me that bullfrogs don't have the dorsal ridges on their bck but all of these did. Still confused!
Just curious, we are planning a frogging trip tonight and have been a few other times, but we are trying to find a definitive difference between Pig and Bull frogs. I'm sure we passed up a bunch of pig frogs last time that were well over the 3' limit, but thought they were just small bullfrogs. Could you please give me a good way to tell for sure?
Yeah that last Friday I went hunting, I got off a excellent shot on a 60-75lb hog and he squealed loud and took off running and I put 4 more rounds into his head when he was running and still didn't kill him, and Sherburne holds so much water its impossible to track blood. I don't even use an ATV I just park and walk in about a mile into the woods and they are everywhere, just frustrating that I can't do anything about it, but squirrel season for spring is coming up may 5-11th for Sherburne, me and a friend are going out there with .22LR and going to try and shoot the same hog to try and drop them, but if not we are going to empty our clips until he does drop, because this will be the 3rd time going out and shooting a hog and not having any meat to come with.
I agree they need to lift restrictions and extend the season or make their own season for hog. I wouldn't even need a $5 bounty to get me in the woods, all they have to do is give me the right a way to go hunt and I'm there for free!
Im giving it another last shot Friday morning, which is the last day of the season for now, so hopefully I can take your advice and hit em 2' behind the ear and 1' low.
If they do i don't think that will interfere with anything because that will be in march, the squirrel season is in May which is 2 months from now
I don't think they have a turkey season on Sherburne where I hunt, I think I read that Indian bayou is the closed wma with a turkey season, but like I said in the revised rules and regulations it states that they can be taken during and season by a licensed hunter with the season in progress weapon. I'm assuming if they don't have a turkey season that I could still hunt the spring squirrel season, if not I guess ill just have to wait until next season.
I will call and make sure before I go, but on page 47 on the regulation guide it says feral hogs may be taken during any hunting season on a wma by a licensed hunter. Squirrel season opens for one week in may on the wma I hunt.
I appreciate all the input, I will definitely look into the 22 magnum as my next weapon, and the wma I hunt, I've hunted the same area (about 2-3 square miles of land) over a month or so and I've never sat in a stand and waited I always stalked them and have came across the same herd of hogs everytime due to the fact I recognize a few of the babies in the herd because of their unique color hair. Usually the herd is about 20 deep, but they have spring squirrel season coming up in May and will definitely be out there with a little more fire power to get my first hog, there's no quit in me!
I wish that was me bullbowfin, but I don't mind not being able to carry a pistol for protection because I always make sure I have a tree next to me to climb in case I was being charged, but my main concern is for the animal, because I lost sleep that night knowing that I wounded that hog because the gun wasn't quite enough to put it down because I was maybe off aim by less than a centimeter and hit his skull rather than right behind. I just think its time to revise the regulations and make a whole section dedicated to just hog hunting on WMA's and not just a short statement about it, hogs need to have their own season and with that have its own firearms for that.
I agree tuffhuntin and Mike, they should have an open season for hogs, but also regulate it with certain firearms, but make sure the firearms being used are the right tools for the job instead of worrying whether your going to hit a quarter sized spot behind his ear. I also understand tuffhuntin that they have people who dont respect the wildlife and just poach any chance they get, but we cannot be punished for the few that want to break the law, to me that is up to wildlife and fisheries to catch them and not for us to be limited so much in our hunting.
I agree with the pistol carry. I thought the same thing that I could carry my pistol on my hip for protection, until I called the headquarters and they to me that it is only legal to carry a pistol during the modern firearm season for deer, which is states somewhere else in the rules and regs which they pointed out to me.
Never even thought about it down there. It's right down the road from my house, Ill definitely will have to make a trip out there soon!
