Sir. I have watched you post catches like this for years. I fish the bay and struggle to catch 1 or 2. Any tips or pointers. I would love to learn what your willing to teach. I have adds posted with my # or you can email me. Any help is appreciated
What body of water are you catching these fish? I fish vermilion bay and that's a once a year catch
Thanks. Ive only had one trip like that and man was it fun. We stumbled upon a spot and left with 20 in an hour. All 20 inches plus. Went back next day and they were gone. Good to hear someone's catching though.
Were they bayside or inshore? Not looking for specific spot just want to know how far in they are.
Are you catching these in a honey hole or just searching around. I had done well at Avery a month ago and haven't caught a red since. I've been trying to get on them again. Thanks for any advice.

I USE CAJUN RED LINE BY SHAKESPEAR AND I SWEAR BY IT. I HAVE PULLED CRAB TRAPS UP THAT WERE SUCK ON THE BOTTOM. I USE 20 # TEST AND IT CAST GREAT. CAUGHT A 40 # RED ON THE STUFF. JUST BE CAREFUL, IF YOU GET HUNG UP IT IS VERY HARD TO BREAK!
try changing the fuel hose inside the engine.may be clogged or collapsed.did you check th fuel pump.try that and good luck.
thanks for the info. how do you like the southfork. any recomendations on a good aluminum boat, semi vee 17 or 18 ft
well i might have found the problem. Got home today and tookthe fuel pump off.cleaned it up real good and put it back on. With the ears on the motor ran 100% better,in forward neutral and reverse. i just hope it stays that way when i put it in the water. Thanks again.
also i called up master marine in lafayette and asked about rebuilding the carb. he said it would run about 250. ive delt with this guy before and he was real good but has anyone else ever used him. thanks
sorry about that it is a 25 hp on a 15 ft flat.
make sure fuel hose from tank doesnt have any holes. does the ball get hard when you pump it. try getting on step while pumping the ball.
Where are you running them . That will make a big difference in the design. I use a swimming noodle also, about 12 inches long. Then i slide a piece of 1/2 inch pvc cut 18 to 20 inches through the center hole.then drill a holeon each end big enough to pass crab string through. On one side tie a piece 18 inces long and attach a swivel with a quick snap and put the hook. on the other tie string that is 4 to 5 feet longer than the depth of the water you are running them. depending on current tie the appropriate weight. It also helps to use all one color noodle to identify yours. With that said if you are going to run juggs, be respectful of other peoples juggs. Try not to run yours on top of theirs and NEVER take anyone elses fish.it is a bad feeling to pull up to your jugg and it has been cut or tampered with, or even worse stolen. Also, 6 to 10 hours is plenty of time to leave them sit.Enjoy and hope this helps.
the best web sit i found is www.lacoast.gov and then go to maps. it is aerial photos that are so detailed you can see mud flats.
