taking my family to grand isle for the weekend. looks like a northeast wind around 10-15 mph on Saturday and then sunday It dies down to under 10mph. lots of sun though.
besides fishing deep under the bridge for reds, can anyone divulge any information on other spots to pick up fish? we will be fishing out of two 19' bay boats.
any help is greatly appreciated

Bought a 24' bay stealth recently. Ran it for first time a few months ago. Topped out at 53mph. Then I put on an 8' manual jack plate. Installed it all the way lowered. Lost some mph. Went down to about 47mph So I jacked it all the way up. Ran it and lost more! Tops out at about 43mph now. Is it too high? Feels like when turning it doesn't catch the water. I attached a pic to show the water line while running about 75% throttle. The prop shaft seems to be even with the bottom of the hull. Any help or opinions is appreciated. Thanks!

anyone know a reasonable play to get new boat seats made for a 24' bay stealth? seems like there should be more places like this around.

I just posted same thing yesterday. I am heading to grand isle with two 19' bay boats this weekend. looks like we have a pretty strong north wind accompanied by a falling tide Saturday morning. I assume you will have to find clearance from the rollers on the south sides of islands. the surf along grand isle and elmers island might be the only place for clean water. I think a lot of muddy marsh water with be north of grand isle. not an expert just going off what other people advised.

I am optimistic. I'm hoping that a few more inches lower and I can have her running in the 50's again.
I will for sure repost back next test run.
Hopefully accompanied with a good fishing report!

Oh boy. I hope I don't have to go through the same issues.
The bay stealth has a recessed motor. In order for me to put the power pole on without drilling into boat I had to get a couple motor plates. One was almost as expensive as the jack plate. So I just got the jack plate and mount that hooks power pole to it. As you can see from pics.
I assumed the jack plate would only help. :/

So you did find the sweat spot? We\'re you able to have the motor higher and also gain mph?
