COYOTE RATES ARE INCREASING ALL ACROSS LOUISIANA

My Buddy & I can improve young deer survivor rates by letting us hunt the coyotes on your lease starting right after deer season ends in your area. NO DOGS USED! Just Stealth.

If you or your club is interested, simply call 225 614 5588. Ask for Bill.

Generally speaking, you can change the pitch AND diameter of a SS prop by a good machinist at repair facility. The pitch is accomplished by heating the blades than placing the prop in a press form that will bend the blades to the desired pitch.
Regarding diameter this can be adjusted by either cutting or grinding the blades. For adding diameter that machinist will add to the outside edge. generally speaking either process can be accomplished much more cheaply than buying a new prop.

Good Luck.

The current full moon should have brought some birds in, so it is time to post your sightings. Good Luck to all of you from a retired water fowler. Be Safe.

Several years I made the decision to change from hunting the marsh on my lease in SE LA. I ended up leasing a pit blind on a rice farm in Central LA. The first year the farmer planted a new strain of rice. Just before he started the harvest a front came thru resulting in the high wind laying over the stalks. This resulted in his brand new harvester leaving a large amount of rice in my field. Man, did we take some ducks & geese. In fact, my buddies & I quit shooting teal to concentrate just on the Mallards & Pintails. Believe you me it was THE best duck hunting I have ever had. The following subsequent years the farmer changed strain he planted due to the large amount left in the field. The four subsequent years our hunting slowed to the current situation ie you might take 0 to 3 or 4 birds per 4 hunters in my pit. Thus, last year after 43 years of duck hunting I decided it just wasn't worth enduring the pain & suffering, so I sold 90% of my gear - travel trailer, 4 wheeler, pirogue & decoys. The point I trying to make is that unless the LA rice farmers begin leaving some of their rice crop in their fields the birds will come down, but WON\'T stay.

After 8 months of leaving my shotguns in the rack due to shoulder surgery I decided it was time to test the right shoulder. This resulted in booking a hunt with Scott Dennis out of Delacroix.
Although the fog and very mild temperatures were a negative. Of course, my shooting left much to be desired, with the help Scott I did, however, end up with a nice 6 bird limit, plus one contributed by my new buddy.
Regarding the birds in Delacroix, it is obvious colder weather would be a great help. In any case I thoroughly enjoyed the hunt. It is great to be physically able to return to a sport that I have grown to love for some 63-years. Thanks Scott.

I am seeking information concerning the location of a farm with a field that has a good number of doves on it. Willing to pay day rate. Please help.

After a full half-hour of searching the LDWF website I have come to the conclusion 'they' hired the wrong guy to design their site. All I was attempting to find the page that would provide the details of the dove regulations on the Sandy Hollow WMA. This website IS NOT user friendly!!!!!- It SUCKS!!!
If anyone knows if the Sandy Hollow fields are open during the week I would really appreciate the information.

As a result of a damaged right shoulder my doctor has recommended I use more padding when shooting my Benelli SBE 12 gauge shotgun. I really like to shoot it, but don't want reinjure my shoulder. So I am wondering if anyone knows if you can install one of the Benelli SBE II type stocks on an SBE? Note: I am a retiree & can't afford $2,000 for an SBEII. All comments would be appreciated.

WHAT IS THE BEST RATIO ON A REEL TO BE ABLE TO COMFORTABLY FISH ONE OF THE UMBRELLA LURES?

February 15, 2013 at 6:48am

There comes a time in one's life when major decisions can no longer be put off. My time has come. I am 69.5 year old avide waterfowl hunter. I absolutely live to hunt ducks & geese. But the wear & tear to my body as well as the time required to recover from physical exsertion has forced me to the realization that I must reduce the number of days on-the-hunt. Most of us are hard working individials with responsibilities. We sacrifice & save some of our hard earned wealth, so that we can enjoy the things we love in our retirement. However, my mistake was I didn't realalize in my 'youthful' years how much endurance is required to enjoy the personal thing I love to do - duck hunting. Whether there be birds or no birds, I still love the hunt. I have posted the vast majority of my 'stuff' in the classified section and once my 'stuff' is sold, it will mark thwe end of an era in my life. Frankly, I don't know what I am going to do when later this year it is time to begin getting my 'stuff' ready for the hunt. Fairwell, Gunrunner

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF A WELL ESTABLISHED WATERFOWL OUTFITTER IN THE MER ROUGE, LA AREA? INTERESTED IN BOOKING HUNTS IN 2013-2014 SEASON

January 12, 2013 at 8:36am

TO ALL MY FELLOW SPORSTMEN - MAY ALL THE DUCKS, GEESE & DOVES FLY LOW & SLOW INTO YOUR DEEKS; MAY ALL THE DEER, RABBITS,HOGS WALK RIGHT TO YOUR DEER STAND. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE THE BEST SEASON YOU HAVE EVER, ITS PROBABLY GONNA BE YOUR LAST, 'CAUSE MOST OF US WON'T BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE COST NEXT YEAR UNDER BARRY'S 2ND TERM.

Not an Attorney, but I do believe the State of Louisiana law indicates if a body of water on private property is man made it is indeed private property. Thus, it can be regulated by the landowner.
I also believe it canal must be posted. Your best bet is to contact WLF or an attorney.

Trying to get into YOTE hunting now. Am setting up a rifle. Hopefully, will be reading in a week or 2.

Q: Are you mostly successfully a night?

Q: Do you hunt on private land or State land?

Q: Is a license required?

Thanks in advance,

You should read the cover story concerning Remington Rifles on this site. It is on the cover page.
You might want to reconsider your manufacture. Personally, I recommend the Ruger.
