Round bales of hay work great and are cheap. They last for years in the wind and rain. Stacked 2 high hard to lob one over. Just a thought.

A comment titled: Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08 cal. in response to a report titled: Need New Gun

Looks and works like a grown-up in a smaller package, better trigger (especially good for less experienced shooters),very accurate, great caliber for deer. Recommended to several dads for thier children and they end up using the rifle as much as the kids.

A comment titled: 357 for deer in response to a report titled: HANDGUN HUNTING FOR DEER

I think a 357 would be fine to deer hunt with. Although, most of what I have read put it on the low end for deer hunting. If you shoot it well and know how to limit your shots to what you are capable of, I think you will be fine. It was the caliber of choice for Law Officers for many years. They trusted it would stop a 200 lb. man, with the right ammo. As to your you ever hear of guys bragging about how their trusty 30-30 drops them, probably accounted for more deer than any other caliber! It's a guy thing!

At $8.00 a 50lb for corn and $4.80 a gallon Diesel...I might just buy a rib-eye and go to the rifle range. LOL

A comment titled: No Access From Ouachita By Boat in response to a report titled: Ouachita Question??

The dam at Cuba Blvd. will stop you. The only access is at Country Club ramp if you are a member or know someone. If you have a small boat you can launch at the end of Loop by the Bridge. Gravel ramp but launchable with small boat and 4-wheel drive.

I agree with QDM, what I don't agree with is that
QDM is the same for everyone. Some hunt for antler size, some hunt for the experience, some hunt to match wit's with a public land deer, some enjoy getting together for a social event, some enjoy trying to kill a deer with a certain weapon, some want a combination of these or add their own. To me the true meaning of success is to never pull the trigger on a deer and regret it later. Admire the game you shoot. Know what QDM is to YOU.
