Spent the day with my good buddy Craig Perrier looking for some big trout for my customers coming in for the next few days. Ended the day with 30 nice trout with a few 2-3 pounds and a limit of reds. Wind not to bad and the tides are good. Back after them tomorrow. Good luck out there. Outcast Fishing Charters 504-912-8291
The wind has been relentless, but that's the way it goes in the spring. Decided to burn some gas and get off the beaten path, and it paid off. Even in 20mph winds I found them. 100 trout by 9:30. Caught 12 reds and 2 flounder to go with them. Thanks Shane, Bruce, and Luke for a great day. We have a few days open this week, and the wind should lay down,so give Outcast Fishing Charters a call at 504-912-8291. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
First I want to congratulate my beautiful daughter for getting some blood on her face. Thats right. MaryBeth killed her first deer! A 125 pound doe. Dropped her in her tracks with 1 shot. Not to be showed up, her little brother, aka Capt. Five, dropped one too. Not a bad weekend. Look out big bucks, here we come. Now it's Maddie and Beth's turn.
I had trips last Wednesday through Saturday. Managed to catch a lot of reds but not many trout until Sunday. Had the day off so my "padna" Jeff and I brought our sons out to punish those spotted little dudes. We caught our limit and were back at the dock by 11:00. We had a ball watching those little guys help us punish those trout. Didn't catch many big ones but they sure did taste good last night. Don't miss out on the summer action. Call me for a trip. Capt. Super high river: Sucks!
Super dirty water: Sucks!
Super high winds and falling temperatures: Sucks!
Catching a limit of reds and a few trout on dead shrimp: Priceless!
Had to run up towards Pointe a la Hache today to get out of the wind. Managed to catch a limit of reds and a few trout. Weather was terrible. My tip for tomorrow is stay home to catch up on honey-do's because good fishing is right around the corner. If you have to go fishing, be safe and bring dead shrimp!
Good luck fishing.

Hot,cold, hot, cold. When will it stay the same? I guess it doesn't matter because after two great days of fishing, these boys cried uncle and headed back to Kansas with sore arms. We caught and released 357 reds with 8 people. Head down to Buras and come getcha some!!! New lodge is up and running. So call to book a trip with Capt. Lloyd Landry IV at Outcast Fishing Charters 504-912-8291 or fishing on your own and need food and lodging, give us a call - we'll hook you up.
Most of the reds we caught came from the east side of the river in some pipelines where I could get out of the gail force winds. We used dead shrimp because the water was very muddy. We only kept smaller reds to eat. Hope this helps.
There are a lot of birds working out in front of Joshua's. Just take your time running around. Most of our marsh has washed away. If you are not sure where you are going take your time and idle in and out of an area. If the birds aren't working find an area with some bait and you will find some trout. Good luck. Capt. Lloyd Landry
