We all love the outdoors , but take precautions against ticks. We have learned from personal experience that something so small can cause so much misery. Just wanted my fellow outdoorsman to know and to be careful .

Anyone know of a boat launch on the pearl river. Looks like it should hold a lot of catfish.

March 08, 2012 at 7:44pm

What is the going rate for getting a deer mounted? My wife shot her first deer this weekend(a decent 8 point) and I shot my first deer that I would like to mount. And do yall know where a good place is located? In north MS where we hunt it is $250.00 which is a good price , but that ride ain't.

Hey Yall, I have a couple of Moultrie I-40 trail cameras and they still work but, both of the LCD screens don't work anymore. Does anybody know where to get replacement screens? They look very easy to install.

The last couple of times I have ran trotlines in the Intercoastal we have seen these carp jumping out of the water. One hit me when we were sitting still and another tried to take my wife out. To add to that I think they are already having an impact on the fishery. We are catching less fish that before and can only assume its because of them. By the looks of the stomach contents it eats the same things all other fish eat when they are young, but these fish eat it their entire life. Its only a matter of time before we have the problems that Ohio and Illinois have. Hopefully we can do something but my hopes are not high. I know us Louisiana people eat alot of stuff but I cleaned one of them, NO WAY. It tasted horrible, and was hard to clean. The meat was white but it still tasted like crap. Just wanted everyone to know

Caught these in the Mississippi river today. They bit on crawfish.

February 22, 2010 at 7:31pm

This is the year I will catch flatheads on a regular basis instead of two a year. I better get my camera ready to take pictures of the pigs flying, that will probably happen first

September 20, 2009 at 12:46am

My in-laws gave me a few cases of miracle grow liquid fertilizer. Will this stuff work on my foodplots. I planted wheat and oats right before the rain last Friday

September 14, 2009 at 9:41pm

I have an area about 1/3 acre that I am going to try and plant this year. I am going to disk it up but it is in the woods and only gets a couple hours of sunlight everyday. The other plots do fine. Does anyone know of a seed that will grow in moist kinda sandy soil that does not get that much lite?

August 25, 2009 at 8:02pm

July 25, 2009 at 4:31pm

July 21, 2009 at 9:49pm

My 2004 Silverado has a plug right behind the power steering pump and it is leaking coolant. Is this the freexe plug and what would cause this?

July 05, 2009 at 10:07pm

June 26, 2009 at 10:10pm

We are thinking about going to Fourchon this weekend to fish and let the kids play . Is the beach open where we can drive down or do we have to walk?

May 28, 2009 at 8:59pm

A comment titled: Released in response to a report titled: Atchafalaya River Sturgeon

Yeah, we definitely released both of them after some pictures. Called the WLF and the biologist asked me to email him some pictures. Ended up with some nice blue cats and a couple of channels. We would do a lot better if the water would drop.

A comment titled: Clover in response to a report titled: Whitetail Institute

I have used their clover and extreme. The clover works but the extreme does not work well-to my experience. It came up great in a bad area, poor soil and dry. The deer just would not eat it. They would hammer the rye grass right beside it ,but not the extreme. As for the clover it's a good product. I planted it four years ago and it is still coming back. Good luck.

A comment titled: That fisherman in response to a report titled: MS RIVER CATFISH

Put in at the Morley marina and head back toward the locks. Anything past four miles seems to be better. If you stay around the launch, get ready. The traffic on the water is bad and dont think they will slow down. When you get ready to go email me and I will try and make a run over there. Show you a few good spots.

Yeah we have been catching some nice ones this year. Earlier we were catching some monters on trotlines for fun, but now it's time to put some eating size ones in the freezer. I have never caught as many goo in my life as we have in the last month.

A comment titled: Lot of channel cats too. in response to a report titled: any info on COMITE RIVER?

If the water is down and does not look like a big mudhole you can walk down that thing. Its like a big creek, and you can catch alot of small to midsize catfish.

A comment titled: Some on poles and some on trotlines. in response to a report titled: Mississippi river cats

We caught some on poles and some on trotlines. As far as the crawfish we caught them in a slough out towards Rosedale Rd, but it was'nt easy. I have to admit that we I caught some monster tadpoles and they did better than the crawfish. When it gets warm the bite will pick up and the coolers will be full. As far as the MS river I fish it in a 17 ft aluminum boat and it does fine. You just have to watch out for the wakes off the big boats. It's safe as long as you pay attention and make sure your boat is in very reliable condition if you have to crank up in a hurry. Good luck when yall go.

A comment titled: Beast in response to a report titled: Flathead year

You are right. They never wanted anything to with us or say about us until we started winning. We were watching them play the Vikings and when they won my wife started whooping and hollering. My seven year boy looked at me and said, daddy is mama ok? I said no son but she will be ok tomorrow. Funniest thing I ever seen.

A comment titled: Back in Mississippi. in response to a report titled: Flathead year

Back when I lived in MS I fished the Yazoo and Yalabousha rivers. We caught flatheads one out of five fish. We used polywogs aka bullheads for bait. Cut the upper and side fins off and the flatties loved them.Since I movved here I catch a few in Bayou Pigeon and a few in the MS river now.

A comment titled: I fish alot in the Mississippi River around the old and new brid in response to a report titled: Flathead year

I fish alot around the old and new MS river bridges. We catch some good fish out there and alot of them when the river is right.(It's gonna be awhile before that happens)Right now I am fishing in the Intracoastal past Brusly. I do better in the MS river with rod and reel ,but we put it on em in the Intracoastal using trotlines.I get all the bait I need out of a pond for the trotlines. In the river I have more success on cut slicker.
