Heading to Chicot lake next weekend and I've never been. Just checking to see if anyone has been there this year since the water came back up and how it might be doing bass wise.

My work is trying to find a place to get together for a weekend in May. Does anyone know any info on Chicot Lake State Park? Is the camping any good? The fishing? Is it a clean/nice place to camp? Is it a good place for kids? Any problems that ya'll know of would help. Thanks in advance!!!!

While you were watching the oil spill, the New York failed terrorist bombing and other critical crises, Hillary Clinton signed the small arms treaty with the UN.

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress.

Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms. The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened.

Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth?

What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public.

We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership.

And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment. This has happened in other countries, past and present!

As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

Read the Article U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto. The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

O.K.-I went to a spot yesterday hoping to stick a few. Weather was beautiful with very little wind. Water extremely clear,I could see bottom in about 6 foot. Located some beds with fish either on them or within a foot of them. Tried a lizard,a pig,a grub and several worms/craws. Bumped them on the head, drug it across their backs, let it set for minutes at a time and just wiggled it. In short tried everything I could think of. Only caught four fish and no real size to them. What am I doing wrong?

O.K. Here's the deal. I have been waiting for my time off to hunt some ducks in a little spot that I have been watching for several months now. Between my work and all the high water, this morning was the first chance I've had to hunt at all. After a twent min trip by boat my son and I made it to the SPOT and started to scout around a little. About 30 mins after we arrived,,I heard a boat in the distance and then someone shouting. Didn't pay much attention at first but then I took notice because it was a steady yelling for 30-40 seconds. Immediately following the yelling, which I couldn't make out at that distance, there were three fast shots. I looked at my son and said "surely someones not trying to keep us out of here like that" I decided to ignore it for the next hour or so as we continued to scout for a place to set up. Then, I found the "bait". There was corn scattered all through the 12 inch deep water for at least 50 yards. Talk about mad! Immdediatly I wanted to call the game wardens but the more I think about it,,is it really worth all that? I'm not gonna get to hunt the spot regardless and I have done some crazy "STUFF" in my younger days. Just wondering what the general consensus is.

O.K. This is my 13 yr olds first attempt at deer hunting and I am a duck hunter. We found some sign,,put out a stand and some corn and this camera. I know this is not the best camera or pictures but this looks like maybe two differant deer. On the one facing left I count three on the left. On the second I can only see two on that side. Like I said,I am a duck hunter and don't want to tell my son a story but I think if he knew there were two in the area it might pump him up a bit more because he's starting to lose faith. Any better picture experts out there?

I quit deer hunting years ago to concentrate on ducks. Now my 13 year old has decided he would like to deer hunt. I have found some rubs on my brothers land that look to be about a week or so old by the curling of the bark. My question is ...does anyone on here know about when the rut takes place in the Rapides parish area. Thanks to all.

You make a valid point to some extent with the Mcdonalds thing although I don't know all the details of that incident. I figure it like this,,I'm pretty sure that Mcdonalds did not TELL all of their stores to sell the coffee at 200 deg or whatever it was, they assumed they would use 'Common Sense'. Anyway, when you hire 'someone' who is in the business of cutting grass or the like, then the responsible owner of the grass company should inspect the property before he starts mowing. Thus when the rock flew out and impacted the chickens cranium, the responsible party is the one driving the mower.(insert common sense) Unless,,,the mower can PROVE that the yard owner planted the rocks in his path. Anyway,,this is the direction we have been going for a while with the burgular that the homeowner shoots but dosn't kill coming back to sue the homeowner and the mother who is busy NOT paying attention to her kid that ran over into YOUR yard and fell off of your porch that is now taking you to court even though every one knows she is a crack head. It just makes you want to refuse to let anyone or their kids come to your property for fear of SOMETHING happening.
In the end ,,,everyone's entitled to their own opinion but sometimes it just sucks!!

So...If you hire me to come mow your yard, and I sling a rock across the road and kill your neighbors chicken, then YOU are liable for him having to keep his chickens inside whenever mowing is done? After all, he wont get any eggs on those days? Besides,,,You told me exactly HOW I had to mow the yard.

I looked at paw paws but did not quite like the shape. ( to each his own ). I do know that the fiberglass IS quieter and will last longer if cared for. I ended up getting a 2 person from a place in Alexandria and my brother has one just like it. The cost was a lot less than pawpaws or chapmans and we have been well pleased with them for years. My brothers girl even slung his out onto the blacktop at about 50 mph and it only cracked the gel coat. That was two years ago and it's still going strong.

It is public but if you head there, you better be prepared. It's the last place in central La. that the officials turn a blind eye to 'ownership'. Blinds are passed down from generation to generation and are 'owned'. Unless you have family hunting out there, they will no welcome you if you know what I mean.

If you check out Dan Chase or any other taxidermy supplier you can order a tanning kit. I don't remember how much the kit cost but you can get it for 'hair on ' or 'hair off'. The kits also will do either soft tan if you want it to be like leather or just tan it hard to put on a wall.
