I have been fishing the last 3 days and have caught redfish with no problem but the trout bite has been really slow (I caught less than 15 in all the last 3 days). I fished the Bayou Sauveur area, the islands in North Sister Lake and all over Lake Mechant. I plan to fish Wednesday and was wondering if anyone has been getting decent trout action in the South side of Sister Lake? Are they still on the Coast and just haven't moved very far inland or what? If anyone knows where some numbers may be at I would appreciate it.
Went after Cobia yesterday with a fishing buddy, we left out of Cocodrie. Following advice from an article in LA. Sportsman, we stopped at a platform just outside of Cat Island Pass and used bait shrimp to catch hard heads and kept them alive in the live well for Cobia bait. We stopped at several small platforms about 15-20 miles south of the Pass (40ft to 70ft water depth). Cut the fins off the catfish and tail hooked them with a little weight. It wasn't long that we had Cobia onboard, wound up catching 2 with some other hook ups that spit the hook. The picture is the 43 inch that we caught last. The bite seem to quit around 10:00 and with the heat bearing down we headed. Good times!
Can someone tell me if the time difference between the tide station at Raccoon Point and Grand Pass is about +4 hours. So that, when high tide is 5:00 am at Raccoon Point then it should be high tide at approximately 9:00am at Grand Pass. Can someone with knowledge let me know if this is right or if not what is it. Thanks
