I made a quick trip to Ruddock on Sunday and managed to catch a nice box of bluegill. Live crickets were the ticket!
I made a quick trip out of Ruddock this past Saturday. The bluegill bite was good under the bridges. I used live crickets.
Decided to try the new pirogue out in the spillway ponds. I landed 5 nice sacalait and lost several others at the boat.
6 Point buck killed with crossbow this morning at Sherburne Wildlife Management area. It took several hours to track after the shot due to a poor blood trail. I remained persistant finally located a blood trail that started 50 yards from where the deer was shot. The deer went down about 80 yards from where he was originally shot. I then had to haul him approximately 1 mile through the swamp back to my vehicle. I do enjoy a challenge.
Killed this buck on 01/15/11. Had to walk in about 1 mile. Tough haul to get him back to the truck, but worth it!!!
My suggestion is to obtain copies of his original receipts, go to notary and have your sale notarized. You will need this notarized bill of sale to register the boat hull with WLF.
This below language was copied from the WLF registration/title form. You may have to complete the R1331 form which is a pain, ask me how I know. You have to go to downtown Baton Rouge LA Dept Revenue with your bill of sale and have the LA IRS sign off on the form (after you pay taxes), then to your local parish tax collector (my parish is the school board) then have them sign off on the form. The you submit the completed form with your registration application. Good ole Louisiana!
'Boats from out of state: If boat was purchased from an individual who previously registered/titled the boat in another state, the applicant must submit the title and registration along with a notarized bill of sale. If the boat was acquired from a dealer in another state, previously titled or registered, applicant must submit invoice from the dealer, or a notarized bill of sale, along with the title and/or registration and proof of ownership from titled/registered owner to dealer is required. Applications for first time registration in Louisiana coming from outside of Louisiana may be required to submit a completed tax payment certification form (R1331) from La. Dept. of Revenue. Call the telephone number at the bottom of the page for clarification.'
Congrats. Nice buck!
Nice fish, I used 1/32 jighead black/chartreuse & opening night, under cork 2ft. I also had 5 nice sized bluegill.

I fished in Wacko Lake, but many of the ponds have sacalait. I also fished the 10 acre lake and landed this bass.
It is the Cajun Secret pirogue plans. Thanks
I have been using the G5 fixed blade broadhead 125gr. I have shot two deer this season with poor blood trails. Both deer were lung shot, with clean passage through the deer. This deer had an entrance to right lung with the exit wound at about the level of the liver. How are the mechanical broadheads with a crossbow? I have heard lots of good reports about the rage broadheads.
I have the axiom. Very accurate crossbow
Zillian 78, yes the rut in on, the buck I shot was chasing a doe. The water level is up, although I am not sure what the normal level is. I only hunt Sherburne, couple times a year. Good Luck
Yes, I think you and the seller can write up one bill of sale and have it notarized.
