Just wanted to let everyone know that I stopped today at Bayouland Bowhunters on Ridge road and they have just recieved their techno hunt. It simulates shots on live animals, keeps score and shows you exactly where you hit. You use all of your equipment, all you do is change your fieldtips to a special tip they have. It is a great time, go by and check it out.

Here is a slow motion video of a whisker biscuit during a shot, makes you wonder how the arrow hits even close to the target. All of those bristles on there rubbing against the arrow sure make me glad I shoot dropaways. Just food for thought.

Had a great week at Red River, scouted monday, hung 2 stands, and started hunting tuesday. Tuesday afternoon missed a doe with bow but wednesday afternoon connected with a huge doe. Found her the next morning and continued hunting later that day. Didnt hunt friday and when i went to retrieve my stands there was another doe and yearling feeding under the tree i was hunting. Saturday morning for bucks only killed a 155 pound 7 point at 10. What a way to wrap up the holiday vacation. Thats 3 down, 3 to go, watch out widow here I come.

P.S I will post pictures when i get them in.

This is a picture of me and my second deer with a bow. It came from Red River WMA on November 6, 2005. Killed this one from the same tree I missed a big 8 point the day before. Also missed a spike in that area 3 weeks earlier. Should have 3 on the ground but I guess thats why theres still some. Good luck to all for thanksgiving.

I think that road he is standing on is a wheelchair road. That club in turkey creek is set up for handicapped hunters. That may be why he seems so large.

That thing has a big head! I heard that it was spotted near Cocodrie Lake and they think it escaped from a high fence game preserve not far from that area. Wonder what the seasons are on moose in La?

I just got a hot report, the gou are spawning big time. They have moved onto their beds behind #5. The biggest ones are being caught on speck rigs reeled along the surface. Another go to bait is a texas rigged zara spook, that will get them to bite when nothing else will.

I saw them there that day, they were catching them trolling with double flukes and drop shot rigged cocahoe minnows behind the camps. Alot of other fish were caught on tandem rigged rattle traps in the grass. PS the fish bite only on tuesdays

Ive shot both of those guns and the best one ive ever seen is my dads 22mag or a buddies 17, both are the bull barrel carbon fiber stock models, i think they are the 982vs-cf and 917vs-cf. We put rifle basix triggers in both of them and have them adjusted to just under 2 pounds, you can go lighter if you like. Also, all of the creep is gone. These guns, when set up with good scopes, rings and bases, are absolute tack drivers. The rifle basix triggers are heads and shoulders above the accu-trigger.

maybe you can get some grape water and add some gin to it ahead of time and then they wont suspect it, ive heard from a really reliable source that red koolaid and gin is very good on the rocks
just a thought
ps none for the driver, that is not safe especially when the driver is already permanently intoxicanted, also make sure to not bring pie as it will spoil in the sun just like mayonaise

A comment titled: trigger in response to a report titled: Marlin .17 HMR Question

rifle basix makes a great trigger for the marlins, its easy to install and has adjustment for travel and weight of pull, you can easily get the trigger down to around 1 lb if you desire, makes for a very very accurate rifle

your better off trying to locate another wma through the ldwf website and going there, rr and tr are by far the most overhunted and abused wma's in the state, there are many other good hunting opportunities available in the state

I have a Guardian and a Tribute and you cant go wrong, I get all of my bows and work from Bayouland Bowhunters, they are really on the up and up. The Guardian is the quietest bow I have ever heard or didnt hear should I say. All of the Bowtechs are as smooth or smoother than Mathews and quite a bit faster. Just my .02
