This buck is a product of the removal of dogs from my family's property...we enjoyed running dogs for years...however kept them off the property for roughly the last 6 years or so...We have watched our deer grow, in fact have pictures of this guy for at least the last 4 years. He lived side by side with several large bucks as a result of the dog removal...one of which graced the cover of the November 2015 issue of Louisiana's Sportsman...but they weren't the only products of our decision. He was was sort after by several other adjacent land owners, however his home was on our family's property where he was taken. As far as the hunt, is was nerve racking for several reasons, for one I knew who he was as he recklessly pushed through palmettos along with the fact that he was directly down wind from me which tells me that something must have been on his mind to continue on towards me. He approached south of me with a pretty good north wind blowing. I thought for sure he was going to wind me but he kept on pushing towards me fading to the west...he finally made it directly to the west where I took him in an identical location I harvesred a 132 inch 11 point 2 years earlier....another product of the dog removal...he sits on my wall today...but they were both taken the exact same way... with a 45-70 with open sites, same wind, same temp, same location, same time almost to the min. (which was 11:30 am by the way)...just walking in opposite directions....I enjoy hunting that stand, I enjoyed his presence, I enjoyed the hunt and I continue to enjoy our decision to allow our bucks to grow
