it depends on what you are going to be shooting the most of (shell size). i bought the benelli super nova 2 years ago because i was getting more into duck hunting and wanted to be able to shoot 3 1/2s. it is a wonderful gun and has not let me down so far. you ought to check it out. just my 2 cents
i tried it with the feeder in my back yard last year and i believe it worked a little. i felt like i got a little more life out of the battery but my feeder was under a few trees so it wasnt constant sunlight on the panel. if you were to put it under constant sunlight i dont see why it wouldnt. with a camera you might have the same problem if you strap it to a tree
i also have a benelli supernova. got it two seasons ago. wasted my money on a lot of chokes until me and i guy i hunt with swithced for a hunt. he shoots an older SBE so his choke fit in my gun. he had a pattern master long range which is designed for 3 inch steel shot. it did wonderful with 3s but not impressive with 3 1/2s. i did alot of research on them after that day and ended up buying the extended range model which is designed for 3 1/2s. it still does awsome with 3s and next to incredible with 3 1/2. i dont lead anything unless the wind is super heavy. i still want to buy the long range one for the close shot in timber be cause i have to wait until they are further to shoot because it will blow the breast out of them within 10-20 yards. do some research possibly shoot with one and let me know what you think. oh and deer huntin with buckshot. 15 out of 18 bbs in a 3 1/2 inch 00 buck shot are within a 20 inch circle at 45 yards. that pretty badass if you ask me
junk, dont buy. if youre short on cash send some kents through that nova. wait...save... and buy you one that will last. friend of mine went through two in one season. shotguns are not made to be pampered and thats what they want you do with the steoger. i shoot a super nova 28" with a patternmaster choke and send nothing but kents through it and have yet to complain.
love to hunt and fish
