Coon Creek Hunting Club- Walker, Louisiana- Nearby Denham Springs- 1 Hour 20 Minutes from Metairie- End of season is approaching fast and several members are limited out. There is always some turnover of membership every year. Now is a good time to look over clubs and see what they have to offer. Location is perfect for busy workers in the Denham Springs, Hammond, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Slidell area. Close enough to leave home at noon, arrive in time for a PM hunt and get back home in time for a late dinner- IF you aren't cleaning a deer. LA449/Judge Road, Walker Louisiana. Check out on Google Maps- on West side of LA449. Weyerhauser (timber company) has clear cut most timber within the last 5 years and they shouldn't be bothering us too much for years to come. Clear cuts recover quickly and have produced a huge deer population increase. Most 4 to 8 point bucks are running in the 140 to 180# class. We have literally passed up hundreds of shots on does and spikes- while waiting for a racked buck to show up and nearly everyone who actually hunts has taken at least 1 deer. Lots of small spikes and needle spikes for next year. We also have a good turkey and squirrel population. We are a STILL HUNTING CLUB- NO DOGS. 2700 Acres. Maximum 27 Members. NOT DMAP. Primitive campsite. Spots where trailers can park, but no trailer hookups. Camp has a deer cleaning station with a generator and water pump. No sewerage facilities. Electrical power is by your generator. Dues for next year have not been set. With the usual Weyerhauser price increase, dues should be about $1500 for new members & $1400 for old members. 2-Stands/member. Dues are based upon timber company fees, which go up annually- what it takes to pay the lease. Our Club President assists members selection of stand location. Your area and your stand are your responsibility. No one else is allowed to use your stand without written permission. Area 4 bag limit is 3-deer. Club limits are 1-doe, 1-spike, and 1-buck (4 points or more). No Does AFTER December 15th- at which point most should be pregnant or about to be. Contact: Club President Mr. Russell McLin 225-435-0066 or 225-788-2623. Mr. John Coxe 504-957-5224 Due to the huge numbers of people currently sick with Covid- we are temporarily delaying showing of the property. Hopefully this will pass soon.
