My buddy and I have a 16' fiberglass john boat with a 4 hp engine, and a mixed bag of about 100 decoys, and I have a pretty good chessie/lab mix. I really enjoy hunting divers (cans, redheads, bluebills), but I'm not too picky. Anything with wings will make me happy. We're trying to go on public land and just shoot something. Anybody willing to share some places with us? Thanks
I'm not new to duck hunting, but I'm new to Louisiana. I've really only hunted in Maryland/North Carolina my entire life. I was looking at making the trip to WMAs in Venice. I'm a poor college student, so I can't afford a john boat, but are there any areas I can kayak to? If there are, can anybody just give me some general pointers for duck hunting the WMA down there? Thanks
I went duck hunting at Richard K Yamcey for the first time. Didnât do too well, but damn there were hogs EVERYWHERE. I couldnât find anything on regulations of firearms DURING modern firearm deer season, so I was curious. Can I use a 12 gauge with slugs or an AR on a WMA during this season?
My buddy and I are going to Richard Yancey to go duck hunting tomorrow, and Iâm new to Louisiana hunting. He wants my to bring my lab, but Iâm worried a gator might get him. He told me with the cold front, they wonât be on the bottom, or move, and if theyâre there, weâll see them. Should I bring him or no?
Hi y'all. I'm new to Louisiana and I'm looking to get a hog at any WMA. I'm located in Baton Rouge. I was wondering if y'all had any tips on how to track/stalk/find locations as to where they're going to be. I've never hunted anything but birds so this is foreign to me. Any advice for a rookie is welcome.
My buddy just bought a 16' john boat actually! were looking for holes deep in the WMA, and I'm bringing my dad, so hopefully we can bag a few!
is it unsafe for my dog to go? or are all the gators and snakes hibernating at this point?
I'm in Baton Rouge, but I'm willing to drive up to about 2.5 hours
I'm looking at that on google maps. At the very end, I see a road to the right (if you were driving on Oil Well rd) and see an opening with about 5 little ponds on it. Is that where you are saying wood ducks are?
I'm trying to kill a canvasback before the season ends. any places you'd recommend?
You think so even if itâs going to be in the 40s tomorrow morning?
last question- how hard is it to reach perch lake? do lots of people go there?
