Does anyone have any success for Sac-a-lait near the Mandeville lake front? I was wondering if anyone has any luck near Bayou Chinchuba, the Mandeville boat launch and also Bayou castine?
Does anyone have any advice on hunting pearl river wma for ducks? I would like to go duck hunt out there, but have never been. I have a 16'x48' semi v with a 48 SPL. Are there a lot of logs or shallow waters to watch out for? Is the duck hunting there even good? Any insight would be appreciated.
I mostly hunt WMAs as of right now and all I use is climbers. Do any of you prefer lock on stands for WMAs? If so, which brand do you prefer? Which one is a good one to try out. And do you just leave you stand in the tree all season?
On opening weekend a buddy and I road out to the kayak launch in Big Branch WLR. Absolutely no parking room... Did anyone do any good at all or has anyone been seeing ducks? Or should we not even waste our time?
Is now a good time to start scouting for deer? What time of year is a good time to begin scouting for bow hunting. I am planning to dedicate most of my hunting time to bow hunting this year. Does anyone have any tips/advice?
Does anyone have any tips on bow hunting public land? Mainly trying to find a good WMA to hunt.
Anyone know the regulations on using jug lines around T-funky? Looked in the regs and couldnt find them.
While in quarantine I have had a lot more extra time on my hands. I have had this old flat boat since I was in high school and decided it was the perfect time to do a little renovating. Still needs a name.
I am have recently had a fever to go out and catch some Sac-A-lait. I am not exactly sure their movement patterns though or where I should go and look for them. I mainly fish around ponchy-manchac and around T-funky for bass but I have never really targeted white-perch while fishing. If anyone has some tactics on how they locate and fish for them around those areas Id love to be educated on it. Thanks, God Bless and keep on fishin!!
While taking advantage of the last few days of archery season, I like to take a little something with me in the woods to help with the squirrel problem around the property. Helps keep the corn around a little longer too. Its small, light and most importantly it is quiet.
Anyone know a good wma for small game like rabbit or squirrel?
Does anyone know the regulations on hunting Friggy Marsh in slidell? An old timer told me there was some good hunting out there and thought Id check it out. Couldn't find anything on how to access or regulations on hunting out there.
Came across this while squirrel hunting. Wasn't sure exactly if it was a hog track or might have been a deer on the move. The toe of the track looks rounded to me so I assumed it might have been a very large hog. What do yall think?
What broadheads are yââ¬â¢all shooting this season? Anyone got a favorite they think shoots better than the rest? Anyone heard of anything new this year? I saw Swhacker just put out the new Levi Morgan 261s. Letââ¬â¢s hear some opinions.
I am looking for a fairly good place to go bow hunting this year. I have had a bow for a while now and have been itching to kill a deer with it. If anyone knows of any public land they know has good deer activity or a place they would recommend, I'd appreciate the insight. Not looking to take any ones 'honey hole'. I was looking into Lake Ramsey or possibly Hutchinson Creek?
I am looking for a new spot to bow hunt this year. I was looking at Lake Ramsey WMA because it is only bow hunting and some small game. I was wondering if anyone ever has any luck out there with deer hunting. If so can you please let me know or give me some insight on the property.
Caught out of my ascend h12. Used June bug baby brush hog. Under manchac bridge. Throwing up against big stumps and submerged logs. Not a huge one but it was my personal best so far and I was very proud of my fish that day. Didnââ¬â¢t get to weigh it but Iââ¬â¢d guess it was anywhere between 3.5-4 lbs.
Hello fellow sportsman! I have just recently joined the kayak fishing/hunting community and I am very excited to get on the water since summer is finally here! I am from around the Hammond area and was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to go catch some reds and speks. Any local places or places near Chalmette/Delacroix area that y'all know of would be awesome! Thanks.
Sweet!! Thanks for the insight! will def try it out. You got me really hyped up now for finding some fish. Thank you much!
I am also a college student and love yak fishing. I bring my H12 out to manchac with a buddy every now and again and we usually do pretty good out there. Caught my PB about 100yrds away from the big launch out there a while back. I noticed you said you are targeting reds/specs but if youre ever looking for bass or just relaxing and catching perch manchac is a good spot to look for some. I have been looking for a good spot to get tugged around a little by some reds and Ive heard there are sometimes reds cursing those waters. Never been but I would love to take a trip out there one day soon.
Sweet! Thank you for the advice! Iââ¬â¢ll definitely give it a try. I appreciate the insight and wish you luck on many more hunts to come.
Squirrels will eat good too. Any advise on a good wma to hunt squirrel?
I am looking into getting my lifetime license. They say on the website it will take about 3 weeks to process, I hope its not longer than that.

Thank you for all the advise! Glad to receive some of that good ole southern hospitality. I'll def have to go out there and see what is lerking in those bayous. I'd also like to start getting into kayaking tournaments.
went yesterday to run my boat and to see if there was anything swimming around. Not a single bite all day. Went in some still water canals and cast under some docks and nothing. Had once bass blow up on a top water frog but missed him. Other than that no slabs:( going to have to wait a little longer I guess.
