Hunted in south terrebonne parish this weekend, near four league bay..saw a good amount of birds flying high, here and there..greys and teal..we didnt do too great tho 12 birds in 3 hunts
I shoot all ducks (teal, greys, mallards) with 3ââ¬Â 1-1/4 oz #2 steel shot at ~1400 fps (depending on brand) out of a modified choke in the marsh, it works great for me for decoy range out to 40-50 yds.
Bad on PAF as well...7 hunters killed 6 ducks in 3 days. 5 grey ducks and a teal. Decent amount of divers on four league bay tho
Keep the same profile pic for a while at least, lol will make it easier to remember
No worries lol I detected the sarcasm instantly
In december my 5 month old black lab puppy retrieved her first duck, the lake was a mud flat and the duck was about 20 yards out i sure was proud
We hunt with dogs (all labs) in tidal affected brackish marsh in sw terrebone parish, they do fine..if the water is real low or a mud flat they kinda do a swim-hop maneuver
Hell yeah
I think im gonna start bringing dynamite when the tides real low and blow those holes open haha jk..we tried to build a weir for one of the ponds back in the day but it kept getting destroyed
Hit man yall kill anything interesting down there this season? I know im just north of ya and we did just as you said, ton of greys early but the only nice ducks we shot were a few mallards, widgeon, etc and i shot a bufflehead opening weekend
Yes
Mileypop we had a slow season as well on PAF, started off the season with a bang having limits by 7 am, went downhill from there even though we had plenty of natural feed in the ponds. Still enjoyed like you said the camp life cant beat that! Better luck next season
You need to send an anonymous letter to PETA, aspca, and liberal media outlets complaining about how people are thawing out ponds in the north with a mechanical device just to draw in and murder innocent ducks looking for a place to rest and eat
Nice! i just finished plucking some greys. Thats all we killed sunday and monday greys and greenwings.
Count me in
Nice!
