I am looking to buy a used 24 foot boat and wanted to see if anyone knows anything about the key west 246 bay reef. Seems like a pretty good boat to me but i cant find much info on them. I am currently looking at a 09 key west 246, a 07 skeeter 24zx, and a 07 Champion 24, which boat has the best ride?

I just got my whitewater northwinds 3 in 1 jacket in the mail and this thing is sweet. I had ordered it from cabelas on sale for 235 but then i found it at pressleys outdoors for 150 and ordered that one too. When they came in it is the exact same jacket. Cabelas no longer has it on sale and it is marked for 325 so i am bringing it back to cabelas. If anyone needs a good jacket look into it because i think they are just getting rid of their stock in these, they had a sale sticker over the original price which was 300 so i would jump on this, if anyone would like pictures just let me know.

My goal for the summer is to learn how to fish the rigolets and catch fish on a steady basis. I fish lake pontchartrain and have been pretty successfull the last 2 years but i have never had very good luck in the rigolets. I will be heading out to the rigolets tomorrow morning. I will be starting on the L&N train bridge and then try to hit some rigs if the wind allows me to. If anyone has any pointers or any kind of helpful info i would really appreciate it.

I just got 10 crab traps that i put out yesterday and i baited them with cut up drum i caught the day before. Although this worked very well as i caught 50 crabs today what should i use for bait since i wont always have fish to cut up to use for bait? Any recommendations are appreciated!!

Also i was thinkin about putting out some trotlines to catch some catfish to use as bait is this a good idea?

I have a 2002 Triumph 190 bay that i have been thinking about selling so i can upgrade to a bigger boat. It has a 72 pound minn kota trolling motor, garmin 188c sounder/gps combo, brand new sony radio with two speakers. Powered by a 2006 honda 115 4-stroke. Just wondering round about what ya'll think i could sell it for? Hoping i can get at least 10,000.

April 21, 2010 at 9:13am

I came across a 2004 triton 220 lts for sale yesterday for 13900 and wanted ya'lls opinion on this boat. It has a few scratches and cracks in the gelcoat on the inside of the boat but other than that it just needs some cleaning up. Doesnt have any extras like trolling motor or gps dont really like that about it. The only other thing im not sure about is the motor. It has a 1997 johnson 225 that you have to premix the oil. Wondering if yall thought this is good deal for this boat?

I took the boat out today for the first time in about a month and noticed that the gas gauge was not working. I figured it went out becuase it was old so i went out and bought a new one. But after i hooked the new one up it still didnt work. My switch for my bow lights controls the lights on the gauges also, all other gauges work, as well as the bow light when i flip the switch. None of my gauge lights work though. When i hit the light switch my gas gauge goes from empty to all the way full and back to empty when turned off. Anyone have any ideas as to what can be causing this. My dad said it may be the fuel sender but just wanted yalls opinion before i bought a new one

I have been thinking about getting my trolling motor shaft extended and wanted to know if this was possible and how much it would cost?

I cant say that i am expert fishing the lake but i can say that i can hold my own fishing the bridges. The briges are extremely tricky to learn and very frustrating until you get the hang of it. I would highly recommend hiring a guide at least once to show you how to fish the bridges if you can afford it. If not see if you can get someone to take you out that knows how to fish the lake and show you the ropes. In the meantime there aren't really any underwater obstructions that i know off and the bottom is very clean and mostly snag free. Anytime you fish the bridges use either a 3/8 or 1/2 ounce jig head and your favorite plastic lure. I like marsh works, deadly dudley, and hybrids. Cast as close to the pilings as you can and let the bait fall all the way to the bottom. Then jig it a few times and let it sink back down, they will usually hit it on the way back down and its a very light bite so set the hook anytime you feel anything. On the causeway the fish will usually be located on the same side of the pilings all down the bridge so try to pick up the pattern. Any more questions or more clarification feel free to ask or send me an e-mail.

dockside is located at the end of rats nest road which is right before the highway 11 bridge on the left. take that road all the way down and turn left when you see the sign for the dock. Chas will give you some good tips as to where to fish and also what colors to throw.

A comment titled: Cant figure this out to save my life in response to a report titled: Fuel Gauge Help

Ok i have replaced the sending unit and the gas gauge but still not working properly. Now none of my gauges work and it wont allow me to start the motor. But if i connect a ground wire and a positive wire from my connection terminals then everything works fine except that while running the motor an alarm goes off the entire time, if i hit the trim switch it makes the alarm stop for a few seconds. On the other hand if i disconnect these two wiires then none of my gauges work. It seems to me like there may be a blown fuse in the ignition switch, is this even possible and if so where is the fuse located?
