Tried another fishing hole and the males are just moving up to fan the beds I caught 18 my fishing buddies caught 17 and 15 .
Took a lil while to get on them this morning but when we found em the bit good. Probably missed as many as caught, guess that's why it's called fishing and not catching!
Won't be long water temps warming up and the fish are starting to move into the shallows to start bedding up they're scattered out in the 2 1/2 to 3 foot water holding to the trees I'm so ready for them to start stacking into the flats around the banks just gotta be patient and keep Jiggin the ones that are there
Found some fish still holding in shallow water around some cypress trees this morning we were the only boat on the water. Pops even had coworker tell him we weren\'t gonna catch anything if we went because they weren\'t biting
Got up and got a couple hours of fishing in before the rain moved in turned out to be a good decision
Caught a mess of perch on shinner tipped jigs.
Big ole turtle floating in Cocodrie bayou wanted to get the shell but he stunk to bad.

brother in law had been hunting hard and the one day (Friday) he dont go ol'boy shows up in front of his stand during shooting hours....thats hunting!!!!
We hunted Big Lake WMA this past weekend I shot this little 150 LBS. spike at about 6:30 friday morning. I sit in my stand till about 10:30 hoping a doe would come through and give the guys in the woods around me some hunting time before I stirred the woods up coming in to retrieve the deer with my bike. I carried my gun and stand out and came back in with the bike to get him and when i got back to him there was a guy starting to climb a tree about 15 yards from where my deer was laying. when i got off the bike and walked over to get my deer he just watched me and when i reached down and started drag him to the bike the guy said 'I never even saw that deer laying there'.
seen plenty of birds walking around the woods yesterday.....if only it was turkey season!!!!
Dropped my nephew off for school this morning in Natchez, and on my way back this girl was standing behind subway right up in the middle of town eating on some kudzu.
does anyone have any info on Concordia W.M.A. not to be confused with Bayou Cocodrie it shows up on mapping on the computer and my phone, it can be pulled up under state parks but I can find no info about it I called the state office and they said they believe its federal I called the Bayou cocodrie office in Ferriday and they said they have never heard of such a place. So I guess what I'm asking is it a W.M.A or was it once one and now a privately owned property, and if its still public land how can I find something out about it? any info would be appreciated.
the bite started off good yesterday morning but as it got closer to noon the fish got 'lockjaw' but no complaints on our end it was probally time to go home to the wife and kids so we could 'live to fish another day!'
What else can be said but some monsters!!!!
Had a pretty good morning fishing for the sac's caught them all fishing a black/chartreuse jig on a short line in about 1-2 ft. of water. final count was 43 sacs, 4 cats, 1 bass, and 1 bream.
have any of you guys out there used swacker broadheads? if so how did they shoot and cut? I know a lot of you out there use rage, but I heard that swacker cuts a bigger hole. any input or info would be appreciated.
I overslept a little this morning and got to the stand a little later this morning with my little man. Luckily the fog was thick out on the property that we had permission to hunt so it worked out. we parked a few hundred yards from the stand and began the walk to it and so started the questions, why didn't we just drive up to it and so on and so on!!!! Got settled in and about 7:30 or so it starts the sighing and the comments like we probally aren;t going to see anything. Then suddenl;y he says he thinks he saw something and glasses the area and then says nevermind. about 10 minutes later he says he thought he saw something move back in the palmettos and scans it again and says again he guesses he didn't and focusses his attention in another direction. I look to where he just thought he saw something and there are two does in the open. I tell him 'there they are' and he grabs his gun and tries to settle in on the bigger of the two but she is still moving. when she finally does stop he has to pull his gun back in the stand and get it back out the side window to have a shot. he settles in on her and squezzes one off at a distance over 150 yards. I cant see the deer when he shoots but i see her run off in to the palmettos with her tail down. I ask him did you hit her and he says he is positive he got her. He is so anxious to get down out off the stand but I make him wait to give her time to expire just in case it wasn,t a good shot. He then proceeds to tell me that it is 'pure agony' sitting there and waiting. when we finally do get down me him and a friend go to where the deer was and aren;t able to find blood or hair so I follow her tracks in the mud and was able to locate her not 20 yards in the woods. Talk about a great ending to a hunt and one happy little hunter! Now he is wanting to go dove hunting this evening talk about die hard hunter!!!!
has anyone heard if the fishing has been good at Old River Yuchitan? Thinking about going but I would really like to know what the fish are doing before I make the drive any info would be greatly appreciated.
Seeing a picture of a buck like this kinda gets the blood flowing wondering what the future season has in store for you. Lets be reasonable now I know it probally is nothing remotely close to this but it sure would be nice wouldn't it.
