spotted 3 flocks of 5-10 birds yesterday in SWLA .... full moon this week will bring in more and full moon on Sept 14th should have us looking real nice to open teal szn 2019
I used to do the lottery there every year as well but honestly there are very very few turkeys left in Sherburne. They should close the season for several years until they see a rebound in this area. I have hunted here the past 3 seasons with hearing 1 gobble. !0 years ago it was nothing to hear 6-10 gobblers some mornings. That surely isnt the case anymore.
Good Luck to you Mandevillian and everyone else getting after ducks and geese this wknd!!!!
9 hunts 115 birds in first split in 1 blind 3-4 hunters per hunt majority of ducks were teal also killed 25 geese in SWLA. 2nd split is shaping up to be a huge bummer as we now have less ducks than we did to start the season. Thankful for the geese!!
killed one on sunday in a rice field
More birds you kill better your chances of killing a band .... I was lucky enough to also get my 10th band on sunday. A blue wing teal drake banded in Saskatchewan in August by a guy who is from Baton Rouge of all places.
shot 4man limits both sat/sun pretty early. SWLA rice is where most of the teal are as usual.
I think they are flying today and tom. The report will be out tom afternoon or friday I'm guessing.
spotted a small flock of bwt in Klondike area while working on blinds Saturday and have been hearing other ppl starting to see them in fresh cut flooded rice.
Yes sir beautiful up in the Ozarks! I'm headed up there in Oct. for brown trout spawn.
