Top water bass fishing heats up in July on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. We head to Bayou Bonfouca with Keith Lusher to do some bass fishing. I start off throwing a frog early with a lot of misses and a few small ones. I decide to switch to a Pop Off and it paid off by putting plenty of nice bass in the boat. We also caught a few on flukes and Texas rigged worms. Be sure to Like & Subscribe!
Saturday 9/19/2020 The Magnolia Outdoorsman crew heads to piece of Public land in Southeast Louisiana for a early season teal hunt. With a storm blowing in, it made the conditions and hunting tough. The teal only seemed to fly in the breaks of rain and there wasn't to many breaks that morning. Between the weather and missed opportunity's we still managed to shoot a few teal and have a great time. There seems to be more teal this year than the past few seasons.
Decided to head to Violet Saturday morning 7/18/20. I launched off of Paris Rd in Bayou Bienvenue and made a run to the violet locks. The tide was coming in hard through the locks making it difficult to stay in one place so I definitely recommend having a good trolling motor when trying to fish around the locks. I caught 15 nice bass keeping my limit and throwing the 2+ pounders back. All were caught along the rocks and pylons around the locks. Caught most of them on a xps z-popper and the rest on the saltwater assassin ââ¬Åsalt and pepper green tailââ¬Â.
I launched at Bayou Liberty Marina this morning and made my way to Bayou Bonfouca for some Bass fishing. The plan early was to work the grass with a frog for bigger bass and boy did it play off! I caught 4 or 5 good bass including a nice 3 pounder I released. When frog bite slowed down I went to the Flukes to finish my limit up. Fished the drainages and grass lines on the main bayou of Bonfouca. Another awesome bass fishing trip! Southeast Louisiana Bass are Hot right now!
Made another trip to Bayou Liberty this morning with a good bass fishing buddy of mine John Retif. We got a early start because be knew the rain was coming. The tide was completely out and was actually just starting to come back in by the end of the trip. We worked the grass edges In the main bayou just like my pass few trips. With it being overcast I decided to put on the saltwater assassin curly ââ¬Åsalt and pepperââ¬Â with green tail and was able to put a few in the boat. John was throwing a White 4in Zoom fluke and that was the key. I switched to the white fluke and we had 20 Bass by at 7:15am. Thereââ¬â¢s a lot of short striking and small bass but itââ¬â¢s nonstop action.
Got a early start this morning targeting bass on Bayou Liberty. I caught the end of a falling tide so I knew it was gonna be good. I fished the grass edges between two drainages not far from the lake. By 7:30 I had my limit of bass. I think a caught 15 all together and one was a nice 3.5 pounder. Caught all on the Saltwater Assassin Curly Tail ââ¬ÅChicken on a Chanââ¬Â. I then decided to head out to Lake Pontchatrain and try my luck on the reds. I fished the grassy shore lines and picked up two reds. One was 14in on a white and green spinner bait and the other was 20in on a lemon matrix shad. Awesome trip and was home by 10:30.

We head to Eden Isle, LA for some Bass fishing. Started off fishing top water early that morning catching two bass. I then decide to switch to a Saltwater Assassin which really paid off. I ended the morning catching nine Bass and keeping seven.
A buddy and I decided to make a trip to Lock 1 this morning. I have always heard good things about the bass fishing there so we gave it a shot. Like always, fishing a new area, it took a little while to figure them out. We managed to catch 4 decent bass with a few missed opportunities.
We head to Salt Bayou for some bass fishing. Got a early start in the main bayou with no luck. Decide to head down the bayou that runs along Hwy 433 all the way down to the bulk head. There I find moving water, bait, and Bass! End up catching 8 bass and keeping 6.
We head to Bayou Cane for some bass fishing. The fishing starts off slow trying to figure them out but when we do its none stop action. We end up with 13 Bass and 1 Redfish.
We head to Bayou Bonfouca for a morning bass fishing trip. Haven't fished Bonfouca in a few years so started slow trying to figure them out. Once I finally find what they want, and a few misses later, I get a few decent bass in the boat.
We meet up with a good buddy Chris Broussard for a evening bass fishing trip on Bayou Liberty. Had some misses but end up with few bass.
We head to Bayou Bienvenue to meet up with a good fishing buddy 'John Retif' to try a target marsh bass. This area is stacked with bass and we usually catch a limit or two. They start off small and slow but we eventually find a few nice bass.
